You're incredibly right about the knee-jerk mob mentality, though.

Top-loading the primaries forces premature choices, and that forces early battles. It's like 2003, except worse.

is capable of salvaging America's reputation in this world and winding down a war.
None of the three of them ever negotiated a peace or fought a war when it needed to be fought. none of them are endorsed by 55 former and current ambassadors. None saved 1.4 million Muslims from ethnic cleaning or genocide.

Edwards and Obama and Hillary are all flashes in the pan while America waits for
General Clark to announce his readiness yet again to serve the United States of America.

It's pointless to get your whatevers in a whoever with polls at this point.

As for Obama, he's had Faux Snooze make asses out of themselves with the madrassas story and his middle name being "Hussein". Maybe it's not just Faux Snooze...it smells like Carville The Turncoat to me, but whatever...

Let's see who else gets in the race.

And I'm not sure if Obama will be able to challenge Hillary....Hillary will promote herself as being more experienced.

Seems to me the only potential challenge to Hillary is Wes Clark....Hillary can't accuse him of being inexperienced or lacking credentials in national security, etc.

I know everyone will of couse say I'm biased...probalby so, but still I think that's what looks most likely to me at this point. I don't think Edwards or Obama will make it...except perhaps as VP and that would more likely be Obama than Edwards. Of course, a lot can change in a year (but not the experience factor that I think will weigh heavily with voters in times of crises).

28. I disagree.
Edwards has the money and Obama will have the money to challenge HRC. And we're all waiting to see what Clark and Gore do. I've read Gore has made a wad in the private sector and can finance himself. There is still plenty of time. Nothing is set in stone yet.

I don't think Edwards is going to go up from here, lets put it that way. He's inexperienced, out of office, and has nothing unique to offer.

He's a nice guy, he means well, but that won't get him far no matter how much $$$ he has. Voters are going to be discriminating.

Just my opinion, of course.

31. I agree with that.
I too don't think Edwards will ascend from where he is now, but he's doing pretty good in Iowa currently (see link below). Still Obama hasn't really started campaigning yet and he remains the viable alternative to HRC. Gore and Clark will cast a new albeit welcome dimension to the race, and we wait with bated breath.

I really think Obama could be a contender, though. Of course MY crystal ball is in the shop ... :)

during the next two years. NOBODY knows what's going to happen in 2008 so why worry now?
