American presidential politics has become a game of high-stakes sabotage, bullshit spin, celebrity posturing and gossip.

The result: 3,080 dead soldiers, 650,000 dead Iraqis and a field of politicians spinning in the wind.

Otherwise, how does the Democratic Party conclude that John Kerry isn't formidable, but the Republicans (with some Dems in the mix) and media can actually project credibility onto Crudy Ghouliani?

Swift Boat Leader Hired To Run Right-Wing ‘Online Community’

Yesterday, Washington Post columnist Robert Novak reported that TheVanguard.org, a new right-wing advocacy group, has hired Jerome Corsi as a senior political strategist.

Snip...

By hiring Corsi, Vanguard has made it clear that it intends to hit below the belt and be more than just an “online community.” Corsi coordinated the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth attacks against Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), and plans to use Vanguard to “similarly undermine Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton” for her progressive policy stances. Media Matters has documented Corsi’s posts on the right-wing Free Republic site. Some excerpts:

Wonder how big his house is?

A taste of things to come.

Welcome to what promises to be one of the longest and silliest primaries in history!

5. A freaking circus. Kerry- a serious politician probably made the right choice not running this time.
Next, we will be electing our president like we elect our American Idols. I don't know how much more "entertainment politics" I can stand in the face of all the dangers this country faces, our soldiers dying in the disaster we call the Iraq War, possible attacks on Iran and people starving in Dar fur. Not to mention Global Warming and millions of people without health care.
