Why Not the Kombat T-98?

I know many at this website would perfer that the war in Iraq would end, but if the soldiers are there maybe they should be better vehicles. So, I am wondering why our government has not dropped the Hummer contract and make a deal with the Kombat company (it seems to be spelled with a c on the companies website). It is just the money that is being made by the company that makes Hummer? It is that our government does not want to deal with a Russian company and give money to the Russian government?

Maybe I am wrong, but from what I have read about the Kombat T-98 it is better than the Hummer. In addition, the makers of the T-98 have claimed that "it's impossible to equip even a Hummer with this level of protection". According to the book "Ultimate Autos: The Kings of Bling" the vehicle can endure hand grenade explosions and anti-personnel mines and can be outfitted with a number of michine gun types. Furthermore, it has 50mm thick glass which can withstan armor-piercing bullets. It seems that the Hummer cannot do these things. Finally, it seems that the Kombat is more intemadating then the Hummer. Once again I know the main goal is to get the troops out of Iraq, but since they are their now it seems they should have the best equipment. Here is a link to the vehicles website.

How much for say, 11,000 to replace the Hummers in Iraq? Thought so.

They are expensive, but I doubt that they are that much more than the Hummers that are currently in Iraq. I think they run about $300,000 a pop for the very top of the line ones and around $147,00 for the bottom of the line ones, which still seem to be better than the current Hummers in Iraq. So that works out to about $3,300,000,000 for the high end models and $1,617,000,000 for the low end model. Not to be mean, but how much did it cost for the Hummers in Iraq.
