Since We're Footing The Bill For The Iraq Oil War, Shouldn't We Share In Any Eventual Profits?
Georgie the Wonder President wants another quarter trillion or so dollars to help fund his
war to control the oil fields of Iraq. And, as we all know, that money comes straight out
of our pockets.

So here are my questions: Since we are all investing so heavily in this decidedly mercantile
war, shouldn't we also share in whatever profits might eventually result? And why should
any gains that we paid for be handed over to the likes of Exxon/Mobil or Chevron?

2. What kind of twisted preverted world are you from. War profits go to
rich corporate supporters and political hacks.

Now get back to work you, you, you servant.

And don't forget, an exciting life of adventure and accomplishment awaits your children as they serve in the corporate military fighting the terrorists overseas.

12. Right On!
And don't forget, Bush wants you to have more kids for shredding later on when they go plundering into Africa.
Abandon condom use. Ice the BC pills. Make it so, grasshopper!

4. Regardless of how we individually voted, regardless of our feelings about the war,
regardless of how much we may have worked to stop the war, we are as a nation guilty of destroying Iraq. We voted into office the warmongers who engineered this war. Why should the Iraqis pay even more for our mistake? We owe the Iraqis reparations. They don't owe us squat.

That does not mean I think Exxon/Mobil should be getting rich off this either. The profits rightfully belong to Iraq.

Better shut up--or get ready to "relocate" to a nice new KBR "holding facility."

you are dead on the money calling Iraq a mercantile war. That's exactly what this was, is, and will be all about. Some are so delicate when the use such language as "we have strategic interests in the region". Well someone sure does. The strategic interests they have are profits from oil.

But before we go calling for "our fair share of the profits" since we are indeed spending America's blood and treasure for private commercial gain, let's always remember that IT IS NOT OUR OIL. The new "OIL LAW" that the US is forcing the Iraqi government to sign is a blatant theft of Iraqi oil and a giveaway to BIG OIL. It's an incredible obscenity and it seems like very few in either party care to discuss the issue. Shame on all of them.

7. Surely you query in jest for all costs inure to the public's national debt and all profits inure
to private concerns, patrons of the administration, tax-free for the most part. That's the 'pukes agenda, strategy, grand scheme.

9. By adding
$10 per barrel to oil that would otherwise cost $1.50 per barrel to extract there won't be much profit (and I don't know how you can price the lives lost). But rest assured that the costs will be publicly borne while what profits there may be will be privatized.

10. Nope. That would be SO UNAmerican---only Corporations, and Million/Billionaires have the right to...
...make huge amounts of profits off American blood, and taxes!

That's why I get so goddamned pissed off when I hear right-wingnuts, and corporate-owned Democrats complain about giving the working poor healthcare, or a wage-raise, or help from State or National Government all the while plundering the National/State coffers using OUR TAXED-LABOR DOLLARS to invest in their enterprises reaping all the profits while telling us to "eat cake".

The State, and Federal coffers are the BEST source for corporate "investment loans/grants" to squander as they see fit, while telling us through their corporate-owned and operated "media" that helping our fellow American is BAD, while war is GOOD--and Americans fall for it over, and over, and over again.

Are we really as stupid, and dumb as our political leaders, and corporate owners believe?
