Fox News no longer the choice in my doctor's office nor my YWCA

In the past, whenever I had to be in a doctor's office waiting room their TV's were on Fox "Noise".
I would always poll the others waiting to see if they were paying attention, if they all said NO I would ask to have it turned off. I would say to the person at the desk that it was polluting minds with non-factual reporting and I did not want to be forced to hear it. If someone said yes, I asked to be put in any free room without a TV. Only once did someone say yes.

At my YWCA, same thing, in the entrance/office room. I simply told them to realize that the channel was a controlled mouthpiece of the Government and the White House and unfair to subject people to it without asking them.

Today I was in two doctor's offices. They had on CNN - and NOT ONLY THAT - I noticed everyone was listening.
The discussion was about the leadup to the war and the deception - and the Libby trial the next time.
Not a soul held a magazine, they all listened and watched and even furtively looked at each other with pained expressions.

I live in what used to be a red state, NC.
I was pleased with the decided change, I know there are problems with CNN, yet I consider the picture I'm describing as a welcome step forward.

1. You know what's a shame?
Bill Moyers could walk into that doctor's waiting room, or the Y, sit down, engage those people in conversation and have them eating out of his hand in 10 seconds flat. He could do it in language they have lived with all their life too, not to mention messages and sensibilities they were raised with.

Yet, they have been marinated in Faux "noise" for years. Strange, innit?

2. I got it turned off in the Post Office by trash talking about O'Liely and Hannity
Now they have MSMBC on or the local cable news News 12 NJ.

4. Good for you!
It's seemingly small actions like this that can make a difference.

6. Fox News is intolerable
It's crap. It's bad comedy. It's propaganda. It's an insult to the intelligence of the American people.

I want my news to be as close to objectivity as possible. If I want to hear Republicans speak, which I don't, I tune in talk radio. If I want to check out the other side of the coin, I come here. People should be able to watch news without agendas... just news...
