The differences in Hillary campaigning VS. Obama and Edwards campaigning
Both Obama and Edwards campaign around the country with there spouses and children where as Hillary doesn't want to campaign or be seen side by side with Bill because he outshines her and make her look second to him. this hasn't been picked up by the DU'ers or the news media. this in my opinion is telling.Bill Clinton hasn't been seen at all with Hillary. maybe that will change once she officially announces she's running or when the news media picks up on it and her campaign tells her she has to get Bill out there side by side with her.

1. Didn't Howard Dean fly solo as well?
It happens for all kinds of reasons.

5. he sure did and the media talked about it and he then got her out in some events...
she was a practicing doctor. so she had an excuse to not be side by side with him. Bill does a lot of humanitarian work maybe thats why he's not with him.

2. She is doing what Gore did.
Edited on Sun Feb-11-07 10:54 AM by Kerry2008
Trying to distance herself from Bill Clinton, and point out she's her own person outside of being the wife of Bill Clinton. Shes showing people she is serious about wanting to be President, and she wants people to see her as Senator whose qualified to be President and not just First Lady.

If she gets the nomination, we'll see more of Bill Clinton. He'll be a wonderful campaigner for her. If things start tanking for her before January 2008, she'll probably use him!!

3. The upcoming Democratic Primaries will be a big test for the American People
Edited on Sun Feb-11-07 10:58 AM by ShortnFiery
We all know that Senator Clinton has BIG BUCKS and will always come out on the plus side with regard to campaign contributions.

The Question is: Does BIG (Corporate) Money and our M$M cheer leading buy the Democratic Nomination OR do The American People get to make their own choice?

The M$M destroyed Dean and the M$M will also destroy Senator Clinton immediately after she scores the nomination.

Why else would my republican neighbors look forward to voting for her in the upcoming Virginia Primary.

BTW I'm tired of seeing Bill Clinton. He will not be an asset if she scores the nomination.

4. If Edwards' or Obama's wives were former presidents THEY probably wouldn't campaign with them
Edited on Sun Feb-11-07 10:59 AM by beaconess
either.

I don't think this has anything to do with a fear of her husband "outshining her." He's a bigger than life figure, partly because he WAS president and would be a huge distraction for anyone. The fact that she doesn't campaign with him says to me that she wants to be judged on her own.

Also, I think Bill is a little busy with his own career.

If Hillary did drag Bill around everywhere she went, she'd be attacked for not being willing to stand on her own two feet.

Give the woman a break.

6. add to that
Bill Clinton is very, very busy with his own stuff. As we get closer to crunch time, I'm sure he'll be out there with her. But I think it's very telling what you've decided the reason is (he outshines her). I don't think it's that at all. But since I'm not privy to their pillow talk, I guess WE'LL never know.

7. I don't care if Bill shows up or not. His wife can take care of herself.
He's had 8 years in the White House; it's her turn for a shot at the same job. She's auditioning for an executive role. If he were to suddenly croak, she'd still be a candidate.

Obama and Edwards bring their families to many appearances, but not all. As the campaign season rolls on, we'll see candidates on both sides with and without their kin.

Just look at the two of them at Coretta Scott King's funeral.

9. Am I the only one who's been in America the last 15 years? Impeachment? Monica? Ring any bells?
Bill Clinton is being kept in the background because he's controversial. Bill Clinton's administration was smeared as the most corrupt administration ever (and most Americans don't know that's complete and total B.S.). He is one of only two Presidents who've been impeached. And he wasn't impeached for having an affair - - he was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice because he lied about his relationship with Monica Lewinski under oath. (Those lies were indeed perjury. Whether those lies justified Clinton's impeachment is another question.)

Bill Clinton is still a national joke about sex. The Clinton marriage is still a national joke about adultery. The MSM is still obsessed about Bill Clinton's sex life. The media flap over HRC's "evil men" joke is just the tip of the iceberg. Check out this interview of Terry McAuliffe on Tim Russert's show - - from February 9th:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17065861/

MATTHEWS: Is your friend Bill (Clinton) going to be in this campaign? Going to be busy with the campaign, not get any distractions going with other things?

MCAULIFFE: He’s going to be very busy.

MATTHEWS: No distractions?

MCAULIFFE: He’s got a distraction right now. He’s writing a book for the next two months.

MATTHEWS: Will he distract our attention from his wife by misbehavior?

MCAULIFFE: No sir.

MATTHEWS: He won’t? He’s going to be a good boy?

MCAULIFFE: His wife is running for president. He`s going to do everything—

MATTHEWS: It doesn’t kill me—it doesn’t kill me if he doesn’t distract from this campaign.

MCAULIFFE: He’s the most popular man in the world.

MATTHEWS: We do not want to go back to 1998. Some people do.

MCAULIFFE: I think 1998, in the congressional elections, we actually picked up seats. Is that what you’re referring to?

MATTHEWS: Is that how you keep score? I keep score, he got impeached.[/I}

11. No, it's not because he's controversial
it has nothing to do with controversy (because, really, the Clinton scandals pale in comparison to all that's happened during the Bush admin) and everything to do with the fact that he's a better speaker than she is and he overshadows her. . . . I have no doubt that he'll be out on the campaign trail, but he'll probably make very few joint appearances with Hillary. As a matter of fact, I think I read that he's filling in for Hillary at an event in New York this weekend since she's in NH.

10. BigD, it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to realize why
If she does campaign a little more separately than the rest of them, well isn't it obvious why? While Hillary will ultimately use Bill as an asset, and I can't blame her if she does, she's not going to parade around the country with him attached to her side each and every time she's out there. Sometimes she will, and many times she won't. She wants the general public to know that this is her race to win, not his, and she doesn't need a huge distraction, albeit a positive one, taking anything away from her.

Both Obama and Edwards campaign around the country with there spouses and children

They do? Like how many times has Obama campaigned around the country so far? Once?

Good gawd, the official campaigning hasn't even started and you make it sound as though she's trying to hide from being his wife or something already. She's proud of him and his presidency.
