Florida Gov., GOP Chair Spar Over Anti-Gay Amendment
(Tallahassee, Florida) Florida's new Republican governor and the new chair of the state Republican Party are at odds over the party's involvement with a group promoting a constitutional amendment that would bar same-sex marriage.

Party boss Jim Greer says the GOP will continue to support the proposed amendment.

Of the 611,009 signatures necessary to place the amendment on the November 2006 ballot in Florida, only 455,363 were gathered by the February 1, 2006, deadline. (story)

Under Florida law the group behind the ballot measure, Florida4Marriage, can continue to add names to the petition in a bid to get it on the 2008 ballot.

I hate to admit it, but I am finding it very hard NOT to dislike this man.

I had read another article that said the teacher's were on the outs with Jeb and the new gov has welcomed their input. The iron glove of Jeb is gone and a new open governors office has replaced it.

2. Not to hate, not to rumor monger. . .
. . .but isn't it rumored that the Florida governor is gay, if so hopefully he will use this as an opportunity to come out. This would really challenge the GOP to learn from its bigoted ways.

3. Gay or not it does not matter.
Doing the right thing is the only thing that matters.
