My email to Madam Speaker
Dear Madam Speaker,

This President has violated the Constitution. permitted torture, lied us into war, broken International Law, disregarded the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, broken the Geneva Conventions, Unsigned us from the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and committed war crimes.

He now, against the conclusions and advice of the Iraq Study Group, Military Generals, and with a Resolution from Congress against escalation, decided by himself with his past record of executing this war, to increase the level of troops in what is called and certainly fits the definition, a Civil War in Iraq.

Joe Scarborough on MSNBC, hardly a Liberal, an ex Republican Congressman, has called this president delusional on our television sets. He and others on his show have discussed at length this war and the state of mind of this president. Madam Speaker, I have never in 52 years heard the state of mind of our president discussed so openly and freely by anyone let alone by so many. It is not just the Scarborough show, I cite him as one of several. He talked about it again last night, Friday 02/16/07.

Has it occurred to you that this president may be unfit to lead? You have said Impeachment is off the table. What do you feel is your Constitutional duty considering these examples of offenses? You cannot let this go answered in your own mind.

I too would like some answers.

1. Impeachment won't work because no more than 1/4 of the House would vote for it.

If the leadership gets serious, the impeachment ball is likely to be unstoppable.

"At this point in time, do you personally wish that George W. Bush's presidency was over, or don't you feel this way?
58% Yes, wish it was over

37% No, do not

5% Don't know/refused

Note: The question, "do you personally want it over" strips out all the impeachophobic rationalizations, and thus captures the actual level of support for impeachment.

You prediction is not based in reality. But even if it played out that way and the articles only made it out of committee, it would still be a victory and a boost for the entire Democratic Party.

The biggest problem the Dems have is the perception that they are weak. The second biggest is their failure to energize and inspire. Fighting the good fights, win or lose, demonstrates strength that Americans respect. Fighting for the Constitution and the Peoples government would be the most effective way for them to finally define what the Democratic Party is all about.

3. Yes, and Yes. And YES.
I think our people would be more respected if they just took a damn stand and stuck with it. If people admire resolve so much, why can't our side show any?

IMPEACHMENT MUST be put back on the table.

5. What 16 Republican Senators are we going to get to vote for it?
Actually really 17 since Lieberman no doubt would vote to defend his good buddy.

Fact is, until we have those Senators, it's pointless.

4. A good letter and a great point.
You don't have to be Sigmund Freud to know something's wrong with Shrub. Maybe it's some kind of early dementia or the remnants of his boozing and drugging, but he's getting worse. The CSPAN interview was especially odd the way he snickered and chuckled inappropriately.
