Border Guards should be pardoned..... (Part 3)
Here is my next link.....

And the story.....

George Putnam
Friday, Feb. 9, 2007

It is this reporter's opinion that in my 72 years of covering the news, we have never witnessed such a miscarriage of justice as in the case of the two U.S. Border Patrol officers.

Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean are imprisoned following the shooting and wounding of a Mexican drug smuggler, Osvaldo Aldrete Davila.

As the story unravels, each day brings forward lies, distortions, and cover-ups. At least two Department of Homeland Security documents contradict the version of events put forth by the U.S. attorney, a Bush appointee, who prosecuted the case.

There are persistent charges that the White House wants to make an example of the two U.S. border agents' behavior. The most recent revelation is testimony by a Department of Homeland Security official that his staff lied to members of Congress concerning reports that Ramos and Compean confessed they "wanted to shoot a Mexican."

The admission came during the testimony of DHS Inspector General Richard L. Skinner before the DHS subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee.

Demands are being made by congressional members for a full investigation. Previously, the DHS inspector general's office asserted that it has the following documentary evidence on Ramos and Compean:

# They confessed that they knowingly shot an unarmed suspect.

He was appointed by none other than the great George W. Bush.... Shit, that is cause to regurgitate all on it's own for me......

3. This whole case just reeks of injustice, and something has to be...
mentioned about illegal drugs coming from Mexico into the US and who is reaping the profits on these drugs. Does it have something to do with the Bush Administration? It would seem so as each and every day goes by.... More evidence seems to be coming out that the Justice Department was fully involved with this case and Johnny Sutton being a GWB appointee has to raise red flags....

Where the hell are the Democrats in this case?

4. Has it occurred to you that the only sources for this are Eagle forum, Newsmax, and FauxNews

is because what we pretend to be justice in this country, has in this one (or two, if they were tried separately) case is being carried out against LEOs instead of average people?

And why do you avoid saying that what we are talking about was a guy smuggling pot? Or that they conspired to cover up their crime, lied in court, and destroyed evidence?

Is there an unspoken agenda here?

6. I just finished a reply to you on this issue and went back into the forum
and saw this here as well as the other thread you started on the same topic. The issue is still relevant and you still are avoiding the facts. Post away all you like but as long as you keep trying to slant it, I will continue to balance it.

7. Hey, guess what... That is why there is a Constitution in the US...
One of the many priviledges is, "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" and I honestly, would not want to see that taken away by anyone.... In all honesty, I love bantering with you and also love an honest discussion, and to me that is what these Blogs are all about... I might be wrong on this issue, but honestly feel, (putting myself in these men and their families position) that the penalty was much to harsh.... Fire them, give them 3 years house arrest (with GPS bracelets if necessary) but not jail time... That to me is just plain BS... and you know what... I bet if you asked Hugo Chavez if what I said was agreeable with him, he would agree...

8. I don't disagree with one thing you just said. I think that debate is what this board is all about,
and if I had my way there would be fewer restrictions. I also think that most of the penalties handed out by our "justice" system are far too harsh and the idea that pot is even illegal is absurd.

Nobody was killed (thankfully), but I do have a problem with the idea that LEOs should get special consideration because of what they do. They did a really bad thing (several actually) and likely have done such before, so it is not right, but fitting, that they suffer the same as they have caused others to suffer. The border problem is a problem, but this (more officers, walls, stiffer penalties, etc.) is not the solution.

I'm pretty sure that Hugo Chavez would never consider for a second committing billions of his peoples dollars (bolivars?) to fight smuggling the way we are, and BTW, Venezuela has a much worse problem with their borders, thanks to the Columbian drug armies, that exist thanks entirely to us.

Anyway, I think we need to fix the problem, not make special cases for individuals. Eagle Forum, NewsMax, and FauxNews, are just so vile that they are, IMO, incapable of an objective view of anything, that doesn't mean that they are always wrong, broken clock syndrome and all, but it does mean they are never reliable as a serious source.

9. I agree mostly with your post... Yes I think that soft drugs such as marijuana..
should be legalized and that we really need to deal with whatever is decided on the border issue.... (if it weren't for GWB being in power I would probably even concede more) I think that 99.99 % of our problems are caused by our current and maybe even past President; ie: Bill Clinton, GWB..... Bill because he wasn't Presidential in his ways in the office with monica lol...and we all know about GWB and Admin. of course.

We really do need leaders in both Canada and the US (forgot Mexico) like Hugo Chavez.... He is awesome... and I would give almost all that I own to have him rule the world actually.... He is very charismatic and honest IMHO...
