Where in the world is Gov. Bill Richardson?

Where: Gov. Bill Richardson is in New Hampshire today and Saturday to campaign for president.

What: He has seven events planned, including house parties and speeches, in towns from Holderness to Hampton. On his itinerary are a meet-and-greet at Creative Color and Cuts and breakfast at Jewell and the Beanstalk. Groups he'll address include the Concord City Democrats, and he'll eat his morning meal with the New Hampshire Young Democrats.

Meanwhile: Richardson raised at least $2 million at his first major presidential fund-raiser in New Mexico, his campaign says.

Almost 1,000 people attended the soiree Thursday night at the Sandia Resort and Casino, his staff said. It was closed to the public and the news media.

What's next: CBS News in Denver is reporting that Richardson will visit next week and hopes to raise $100,000 at a fund-raiser there.

Richardson, Clinton continue working the state

CONCORD – Democratic Presidential candidate Bill Richardson said yesterday he would shut down Guantanamo Bay detention camp for suspected terrorists on his second day in office, .

"The first day I would get us out of Iraq," the New Mexico governor said, adding he would also close Abu Ghraib prison where Iraqi prisoners were tortured. Richardson told about 65 people at the Concord City Democrats' 3rd Annual Washington Birthday Social that Abu Ghraib is "one of the reasons this country has so many problems in the Muslim world."

The receptive Concord crowd was one of three that turned out yesterday to hear from Presidential candidates -- or in one case a spouse -- a year before Granite Staters caste their votes. In Dover, Hillary Clinton vowed to end the Iraqi War, while in Nashua, Cindy McCain, wife of Arizona Sen. John McCain, said her husband would make the best President.

In Concord at the IBEW hall, Richardson joked about his low profile compared to other Democratic hopefuls, but seriously called for all Democratic candidates to pledge not to attack each other.

He touted his experience both in foreign policy and at home as governor. Speaking of the current administration's foreign policy problems, Richardson said "We can't afford to have a President without foreign policy training."

"The military contracting system is totally out of control. Why is it Haliburton gets all the contracts?" he asked about the company Vice President Cheney headed before running for the nation's second highest office.

2. It is going to be hard to get any attention while the media
spends so much time on HRC, Obama and Edwards, but I do think he will get a bounce eventually.
