Regarding Dems fighting 'the surge':
What is preventing them from bringing into the coversation the fact that we have hardly any troops to protect our country? I can see it now; charts, spreadsheets, the works to hammer home the fact that 'homeland security' isn't happening.

I'm listening to CNN and this was just discussed at length; should any other 'incident' happen anywhere, we don't have the bodies to deal with it. That would seem like a very good reason to get some of these soldiers back here, or prevent the next round from going in the first place.

Does anyone have any ideas why this isn't being addressed? Seems like a 'no-brainer' to me.
