Poll question: Are you sick of Lou Dobbs phony "polls"?
every damn night it's Are you tired of illegal immigrants taking you jobs, screwing you wife, beating you mother and raping your daughter? Yes or NO? Do you still beat you wife Lou? Anytime you see 97% in a poll it has no real validity.
Yes we need to solve the problem of illegal immigrants. The media has a role in doing so, but this ain't the way!Lou Dobbs seems to have no really idea as to why or how illegals get here(half fly in) no real clue as to what to do about the problem, and is totally oblivious to the fact the what motivates economic immigrants to this country are exactly the kind of crap pissing people off!We are working harder every year yet our pays stagnates or declines. It's not that we can't or don't defend jobs in some professions. If we were to believe that the job market is a fair market why the hell aren't the highest paid CEO's being replaced with people with accents?

2. Just like the night he announced there would be no news about
Anna Nicole Smith. :patriot:

Oh, you're such a patriot Lou.

I'll tell you what, I'd rather sit through an hour of Anna Nicole Smith B.S. than I would yet another hour of Lou Dobbs blaming the Mexicans for everything. :eyes:

Dobbs has contribute far more to the 2006 election that a few Democrats give him credit.

4. I agree with Lou Dobbs on immigration issues
If Mexicans or anyone from ANY other country are in our country illegally they should be sent back to their homeland. OUR borders should be secure so that NO ONE from any country can enter OUR country unless they are legally allowed into OUR country.

5. money and jobs mover with the click of a mouse
If I where a mexican native I would have a wet back so fast it would make your head spin. I'll bet you would do the same to put food in your families mouth. There is just so much blaming the victim and no rational discussion on what needs to be done to make our neighbors to the south happy enough with their prospects at home that they don't feel so compelled to migrate.

7. We must do better so they do better.
Steve.....There is a 3 billion population third world that would like nothing more than to come to the USA as an immigrant (illegal or otherwise) to do better for themselves and their family. Certainly our big business would like nothing better. We could then all work for $5 a day and live in shanties and they wouldn't have to outsource to China.

Instead what we Americans need to do is work as a powerful outside force to improve conditions politically and economically in 3rd world countries so that we do better and they also do better.

8. we can't do better and neither can the third world given current conditions
Edited on Tue Feb-27-07 12:12 AM by stevebreeze
Though I could not agree more with your impulse. The problem is those in the third world would by far rather live where they are if they could make a decent living by doing so. Our trade laws far from being free basically screw the small people in our country and elsewhere for the profit of a few giant corporate interests. That is what needs to change.

9. It's also corruption in the exodus nations
it's not our job to fix the problems of other nations, really. it's true for democratizing and it's also true for internal corruption.

If people are seeking economic benefits by moving here then, who will remain there and what is the motive to stay and fix their situation?

6. Who could disagree with that?
Dobb's polls support your premise as do most Americans. The problem is we have politicians that look out for their own political interests, and the interests of their financial masters, instead of our American interests. Even if I was wealthy enough to afford an illegal nanny or such, I'd still say I want our borders enforced and I will pay Americans an American wage to do that job.

15. But isn't it our country?
Our country has the obligation to do what is best for the citizens of the USA, not what is the best for big business and Mexican politics. Concerning "native Americans" one could say that many countries in the world had a "native population" that was ethnically different than the current ethnic majority...if one goes back far enough in time. Certainly you can't believe that the USA is their (illegal immigrants) country? They invited themselves into the USA. Legal immigrants came to the USA since it's inception as invited guests. Yes the native Americans got screwed in many respects, but one could say that about many ethnic peoples that were shoved off their lands either militarily throughout times, or through actions of organizations such as the UN.

BTW if you don't believe that a primary motive for Bush and Vicente Fox to encourage illegal immigration isn't Mexican politics, I have a bridge to sell you. Every illegal that leaves Mexico provided Vicente Fox's party with more political power by off-loading the political opposition. It's definitely the reason why the conservative was recently elected in Mexico. It's analogous to Bush encouraging Democrats to emmigrate and change the balance in power. In the bigger picture the proponents for the North American coalition/union wanted a conservative in power in Mexico and Canada. Google the Kansas City Smart Port or SPP as they are both building blocks in this effort.

17. Hilarious?
The difference between immigrants and illegal immigrants is significant. My ancestors were legal immigrants and they were invited here. They didn't come here uninvited.

Do you view your home as your castle with the right to exclude others, or is such philosophy a demonstration of false righteousness, protectionism and birthright? Our homes make up our country.

BTW we Democrats should find it outrageous that US workers are excluded from the benefits of supply and demand in the labor market that would raise wages and improve benefits for every American from Wal-Mart to McDonalds to jobs in construction and beyond. Instead the US Chamber of Commerce lobbies the feds not to enforce immigration law so they have an unlimited stream of labor. Conversely I just noticed tonight where the movie industry has forced YouTube to remove any video of the oscars. There is huge hypocracy as business wants to protect their "intellectual property" and opportunities for profits at all cost, while poor laboring American citizens must compete with unending illegal labor.

To clarify I blame illegal immigration primarily on greedy business owners that have made billions off the sweat of these people, and also on the Mexican government that encourage these people to come to the USA. But the cost is on the backs of American citizens that pay the price in many different ways

12. Also Vote No
Dobbs may be a bit too theatrical ( I dont watch him) but at least he actualy addresses this issue in the same light that most of us percieve it in.
Call me self interested but I prefer that my government make its decisions with the interest of its own citizens in mind first. Screw the corporations and screw the foreign nationals.
This is my home.

13. I can't stand Dobbs. He is so busy pandering to his own ego
every damn night. His loaded polls that constantly massage his own point of view are useless. "99.9% of respondents want the sun to come up tomorrow. See I said that people like the sun! Tune in tomorrow night for a new poll." Somehow he figures if the sloppy wording of his polls reiterate his point of view than he is getting a consensus of people (99% agree, see the poll!) who agree with him.

And then there is the issue of his reading his fan mail on the show every night. Some lame brain writes in and says, "Keep up the good work, Lou, you speak for America." and Lou just grins from ear to ear like it is an edict from god. Every time he reads one of this silly messages I try to imagine a real newsman - like Cronkite or Huntly/Brinkley, Edward R. Murrow reading their fan mail on the air.

I wonder why he hasn't read my email message on the air?:sarcasm:
