Is this true?
I am at work and I have got a Conservative coworker telling me that Rudy attended hundreds of memorials for 9-11 victims and Hillary went to none. If this is true I am going to be ribbed all night.

1. Lie - big one - FOX News size. Media Matters has got your back:
http://mediamatters.org/items/200502140006

FOX's Lis Wiehl said Hillary Clinton "lied about going to the funerals" of 9-11 victims; O'Reilly agreed

Lis Wiehl, FOX News legal analyst and regular co-host of Bill O'Reilly's radio program, claimed that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) "lied about going to the funerals" of victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Her accusation is false. Wiehl was referring to O'Reilly's own misleading on Clinton following 9-11 over her alleged failure to attend "any funerals for the regular people killed." In fact, Clinton attended several funerals and memorials, including one for 79 restaurant employees.

<snip>

O'Reilly has regularly summarized the controversy, much as he did in the above quotation, by explaining simply that "Hillary Clinton didn't go to one funeral or one memorial service of any of the regular folks killed at the World Trade Center, even though she's a senator of New York" (O'Reilly Factor, 5/13/02). But he rarely mentions that Clinton attended several memorial services or explains why the victims commemorated by the events she attended were not "regular folks."

In fact, Clinton delivered a eulogy at a memorial for 79 employees of the rooftop restaurant atop World Trade Center Tower One, according to an article in the October 2, 2001, New York Daily News. She also attended the memorial for Reverend Mychal Judge, chaplain of the New York Fire Department, whom she had met at a White House prayer breakfast. On the January 17, 2002, edition of CNN's Greenfield at Large, she added, "I also have visited in the hospital one victim and met with many, many, many other victims who were either out of the hospital or who lost a loved one."

4. Hmm--the popular junior Senator from NY *not* attending memorials?
Justa as fishy as it sounds--*of course* she has. And in addition to the attending funerals and memorials as mentioned by Media Mattersfrom the beginning, she has stayed with this awful event in her support of the people affected--

http://www.survivorsnet.org/newsroom/911wvfa_Newsletter_May_2005.pdf

http://www.unitedinmemory.net/911news.html

Bush noted her and her spouse's presence at the Pentagon memorial: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2001/10/20011011-1.html

Even Newsmax knows she's worked on behalf of people regarding 9/11 health issues: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/9/13/155624.shtml

This is such a dumb non-starter. A response to wingnuts who bring it is--yeah, she isn't little Miss Photo-op like Guiliani and Bush--she actually *works* for the issues.

12. Big Pappa please pass this on to your co worker
Giuliani 9/11 actions may fuel campaign debate
Authors claim former New York City mayor's mistakes may have cost lives http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17029055/from/RS.3/

Hillary Clinton & Chuck Schumer returned to DC to fight for aid following 9/11...that was their job and they did it. They came back and forth. They were not based in NY constantly as Rudy was.

And if you read that MSNBC article you will see there maybe a reason for rudy's constant presence at funerals...guilt. Not only did this bozo put a "command center" right in the WTC complex, He also consistently denied money for new radios for firemen. Well its all there. Makes for an interesting read and a myth breaker.

Rudy was mayor for 8 years...not once did he plan for an attack, despite the fact the WTC had been attacked before. You can add another republican to that list too...Pataki....never "dawned" on either of them...which is inexcusable.

Rudy Protected no one. And there will be more in the book about how he allowed NY'ers to return to their homes and business when he damned well knew neither the air nor water was safe.

Your co worker is interested in who attended funerals? He should be more interested in why so many died in the 1st place.
