Dem Congress caves yet again on Iraq
When will we get the message? Bush can't be embarrassed into anything:

House Democratic leaders are backing away from a plan to scale back U.S. involvement in the Iraq war by using Congress’ most powerful tool — withholding money in the budget.

Instead, party officials said Tuesday, leaders are weighing a proposal that would attempt to embarrass (emphasis mine) Bush into abandoning his war strategy. Under a plan discussed behind closed doors, Democrats probably would fund Bush’s entire $93.4 billion request for war spending this year...

5. I love Democrats but....
This Democratic controlled congress has no intention whatsoever of ending this war. The will of the American people be damned. Constitutional powers notwithstanding.

For them its really a framing issue. How to appease the anti-war movement, appear to be against the war, while voting for the war. Not as challenging, I suppose, as getting re-elected on the 8% of Democrats who still think this war is a good idea.

It should be obvious by now that our Representatives are not representing us. They represent the $$$ WAR MACHINE $$$.
