When the government is a monarchy it's impossible to indict the king.

Since Bush treats his position as a monarchy it essentially has the same restrictions. If Congress subpoena's top Bush assholes, Bush will claim executive privilege and nullify it. If Congress subpoena's information from the White House ... executive privilege ... it never appears.

What's the remedy to executive privilege? You can't prove he doesn't have a valid reason for invoking it without proof and the proof is what he declines to reveal.

I guess the courts will be asked to decide. A long slog up the court chain with Bush constantly declaring that the needed info is top secret, complicating the cases, till you get to the Supreme Court. They might well vote to allow Bush's right and the trail ends there. Or they might vote not to take the case and the trail ends there. The best outcome is a vote to overrule executive privilege and then the investigation can ... begin. When new evidence is required, Bush can invoke executive privilege all again claiming a new situation and the whole process starts over again.

He's going to nearly impossible to catch, particularly within the remainder of his term. When you have a president who is patently dishonest, you aren't going to be able to get him.
