Fair and balanced Fox: "Counter protestors outnumber anti-war forces 3-to-1 at rally."
I saw this picture in a post at FDL. The post is great and worth reading about the Gathering of Eagles this week-end.

http://www.firedoglake.com/2007/03/19/late-nite-fdl-anatomy-of-a-conservative-sissy-attack

Read it all, it is filled with great pictures, revealing. This one at the end of a crawl on Fox News caught my eye. I posted it in another thread, but since the CBC is still considering having debates with Fox News hosting....well...

If you can't read the crawl, here is what it says.

"Counter protestors outnumber anti-war forces 3-to-1 at rally."

BUT...Update:

"Update: No such Park Service, ‘Parks Service,’ or ‘Parks and Service’ estimate has appeared in any form, apparently because the National Park Service no longer estimates the size of crowds at public events. No publicly available photo on the Web — although please correct us if we’re wrong — shows more than a couple of hundred pro-war demonstrators in any place at any time."

I believe this is Malkin's mantra..the 30 thousand Eagles. Wonder where she got the figure.

Isn't Fox News amazing? Thanks to FDL for the screen shot.

1. On Washington Journal a couple days ago
... a caller insisted there were 30,000 pro-war protesters and only 5,000 anti-war protesters.

Maybe she had Karl Rove's numbers.

2. It's just a number they pulled out of their asses, just like anything else
they proclaim to be 'fact.'

These people wouldn't know truth if it leaped up and bit them in the nose.
Every credible report I've seen (backed up with photos) has put the anti-war gatherings at 5-10 times the number of morans.

3. Dead soldiers, dead Iraqis; they're all just numbers to these people. Why is this surprising?
That's a rhetorical question, but still ;)

5. What happened
they requested a permit for 30,000 people..according to their logic that means 30,000 were there. I was there. We had about 50,000...they are lucky if they had a 1,000...though I will admit they had more than usual.

6. And that is not including all the protests around the country and around the world
The % is probably less than 1 if you factor that in.

10. That's it.
There's always a catch.
I was wondering how they could get away with this claim.

7. Faux Noise has no credibility
People need to stand up and bark at Faux Noise as Bill Clinton did. Put them in their place.

12. And it sounds like they pulled it out of .....
the air. I would say their a**holes but that would not be nice.

The FDL site pretty much confirms that only about 1800 actually said they would go.

I see the right wing blogs are having a free for all. TRex at FDL is having fun with it.

Sounds like fun.
