--Tom Delay, speaking of Barack Obama on Hardball with Chris Matthews.

That's my assessment also. Delay also pointed out that Hillary Clinton has the most powerful, largest political machine he has witnessed in his entire political career.

she'll have to beat him fair and square. Two recent attempts (Geffengate and distorting his antiwar record) have gone nowhere. I'm sure they'll figure it out eventually.

I have lots of respect for the abilities of Hillary & Co. in the political arena, but Obama, because of his antiwar stance, his unwillingness to take lobbyist money, his commitment to good government and his immense personal skills, doesn't represent nearly as fat and easy a target as Tom Delay and the ideological wreckage also known as the extreme right. "Destruction" won't work, as I'm sure the Clintons are finding out.

Tell you what, his remarks about his goals for the Republican party sounded very much like a "vast rightwing conspiracy" to me.

He has proven several times that he can handle his own. They have tried a couple of times already and failed. I know they will try more, but he will be ready for them.
