Grassley supports Rove, Miers subpoenas.

“Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) voted with Democrats Thursday to give Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) the authority to subpoena current and former White House officials… The panel voted by voice vote on the authority, but Grassley said he wanted the record to show that he voted ‘yes’ on the issue.” But remember, this is all about politics.

5. IMO, when the hard-core Pubbies stop supporting Bush,
the end is near. This feels EXACTLY like it did when Nixon went down. I can feel it, smell it, sense it and even taste it. IT IS THERE...and it will gain momentum.

Stick a fork in Bush ~~ he's done.

by his fellow Congresspersons. I was also glad to see him supportive of the whistleblower law and Sibel E. At least someone was listening to her.

Edited to add that I'm going to send him an email and congratulate him. Let's give credit where credit is due.

8. Grassely feels the heat.
This doesn't give this blowhard, folksy-talkin Washington Conservative one iota of room to wiggle. Screw him. He feels the heat after Iowa elected 2 new Dem Reps and a Dem Governor in 06 and see his future lookin bleak. He probably voted yes on accident.

11. Amen Ia Seth
Once Grassley voted against his constituents regarding winter fuel against the votes of even Republican Senators like Coleman, I saw his true love for his beloved budget.

screw him

9. Maybe he realizes that * is showing disrespect to Congress in general,
and not just the Democratic representatives.

The Senate especially is a group that is occasionally referred to as "the most exclusive club in the world." Accordingly, there are some pretty substantial egos walking around that chamber; I'm not surprised that at least one 'Publican has figured out that *'s actions are a threat to the power and prestige of the entire congress, and not just the current Democratic majority.
