From today's NYT.

To Increase Florida’s Influence, Lawmakers May Set a January Date for Presidential Primary

By ABBY GOODNOUGH
Published: March 23, 2007
MIAMI, March 22 — Florida could move its presidential primary to as early as Jan. 29 — a week before the “Super-Duper Tuesday” date of Feb. 5 that California set this month and that New York, Texas and a flurry of other states are eying — after the State House of Representatives approved the change this week. Gov. Charlie Crist said Thursday that the State Senate should follow suit.

State Senator James E. King Jr. , left, and Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida, where the Senate next will consider moving the primary from March.

1. I hope Florida does do it.
My vote didn't count in the last Primary because it was a forgone conclusion that Kerry had it locked up. Maybe this time will be different.

2. Looks like you'll get your wish
And since Florida has move inside the DNC's "window" Michigan may be following suit:

Look for a rush to go inside the window soon, we could be looking at a January 1st national primary at this rate.

5. Our Florida Dems
are requesting this? The GOP seems too enthusiastic considering how rotten to the core the voting system is. They botched the Reno primary and she dropped a challenge to the mess. Jeb then won handily probably with even more digital ballot stuffing.

Some of the state Dems in some of these states have not been our brightest lights in the past.

6. You have a point
There are plenty of Democrats in Florida, but the party leaders in this state are morons. They are constantly outmaneuvered by the Republicans and it wouldn't surprise me at all if that was happening here.
