"The sense of a pervasive but otherwise imprecise danger was thus channeled in a politically expedient direction by the mobilizing appeal of being 'at war'," he wrote in The Washington Post.

The fear, Brzezinski argued, was also being exploited by so-called "terror entrepreneurs."

I recall that he once said that "declaring war on terror without addressing its root causes is like declaring war on the blitzkrieg while ignoring Hitler's Germany."

Declaring war on a tactic, which terrorism is, is beyond lunacy. Any disaffected nut who can build a bomb can be a "terrorist." Just look at Ted Kacyznski or the London subway bombers.
