How can we do this? How can we make the media either name names, or shut up.

THEY are exploiting Elizabeth's cancer by making anonymous claims that the Edwards are exploiting it. See?

I want to know WHO. If we can't join together and get this one thing done, we're fucking worthless.

You think the "some critics" this article refers to is Rush Limbaugh? I don't. I think if it were him, they'd say so. I want to know WHO is saying this shit. How do we get the media to go on record with names.

What a big sh*t stain Katie Couric is!

I don't blame you for shaking with anger. Couric is so far gone she is a huge embarassment. She oughta be strung up, IMHO.

Because you know, he hardly ever has a chance to speak his mind and get his own message out, so it was vital that Ms. Couric give Mr. Limbaugh several minutes of uninterrupted, unrebutted air time on the national nightly news her first week on the job.

If a bunch of people email, can we get him to ask "who" the critics are? Or better, name them if he knows.

Heck, everyone who posts on the Keith Olbermann forum here at DU believes his broadcasts include "shout outs" to him/her! :-)

To answer more directly, I don't know whether any DUer's emails have ever made anything happen, but a lot of people here do send him email.

Warren at the Chicago Tribune - he's on Hardball saying all his co-workers were expressing "concern" - well yeah, after the media planted that anonymous concern in the first place.

that's pretty shabby evidence - I am reminded of Matt Lauer, who in reference to Limbaugh's despicable comments about Michael J. Fox, said, well, wasn't Rush just saying what a lot of us were privately thinking? Well, NO, MATT, it never even occurred to DECENT PEOPLE/

That phrase has been tossed around today too. Disgusting.

I don't even think they realize how vile they've become.

Tucker said he "winced" at Katie's questions, but it was okay to ask them because the Edwardses opened themselves up to public scrutiny by having a press conference.

The vile Rush L. is dancing all around a phony theme of ruthlessness without saying so --as if that drug-addled jerkwad knows anything about family. :grr:

Putting family first

Take John Edwards. He has an opportunity to inspire America with exactly that message by terminating his presidential campaign and helping his wife recover from her second bout of cancer, this time a metastatic stage four in her ribs.

Staying in the race, as he has vowed to do, sends the message that being president is more important than being a husband, and leading the country is more important than supporting one's spouse.

Edwards might make a fine president. But right now he has to be an even better spouse. We dare not be so ambitious as to allow professional goals to run roughshod over the most precious things in life.

RUNNING FOR the US presidency is the most grueling undertaking in the whole world. Candidates clock up millions of miles, and are forever on the move. The fundraising alone can kill you. With all this, will Edwards really have the opportunity to tend to his wife's needs?

Because when they refer to radical freak left wing naked in the basement bloggers - they sure don't refer to them as "some people".

"Some people" is code for SOMEBODY. I still want to know WHO.

extent. I doubt people like LIMPBALLS will ever get it, or even many in the Administration... but it could make "some" see those of the BFEE for what they truly are!!

But then, some will NEVER understand and perhaps in the end "karma" will exact it's revenge! Who knows???

Candidates can't really confront this kind of stuff because they just get attacked for whining. It has to come from the pundits, but when the pundits are all for one particular candidate, they're more than happy to stand back and watch someone else's character be destroyed. That leaves it to activist groups, and there doesn't seem to be one that has really stayed on this.
