Women's group (NOW) plans to endorse Clinton

Tue Mar 27, 10:53 PM ET

NEW YORK - The political arm of NOW, the National Organization for Women, will endorse Sen.Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential bid on Wednesday, according to Democratic officials familiar with the plan.

Clinton will join NOW president Kim Gandy to accept the endorsement, which will take place at Washington's Sewell-Belmont House, the historic home of the National Women's Party...

4. Predictable.
Apparently all you need with NOW is the the right reproductive plumbing. I quit NOW in the late 70's after their message moved away from equal rights for women to all-men-are-evil-incarnate message. Screw 'em.

10. Can you give us some examples of their "all-men-are-evil incarnate message"?

12. Only anecdotal evidence

which I'm sure you wont' accept.

On edit. If you want evidence, look at the draconian "deadbeat dad" laws that we now have. Fathers being charged with back child support for children they didn't even know they had. Fathers being reduced to check writers only, while not being allowed to see their children. Something like 78% of custody going to the mothers? Please. No one can tell me the mother is automatically the better parent 78% of the time. I've seen WAY too many instances to contradict that. For a father to get custody of his children the mother has to be a crack addict living out on the street prostituting herself and maybe, JUST maybe, he has a chance for custody although its still not guaranteed.

And I didn't answer you right away because I have a life.

13. This is NOW's all-men-are-evil-incarnate message? The courts are arms
of NOW and are promulgating their message?

m'kay. :eyes:

So before NOW started putting out this message (after their message "moved away from equal rights for women") in the mid to late 70s, the courts gave custody to fathers much more often?

14. Look, I have no intention of getting into some sort
of pissing contest here so I'll make it simple for you, "m'kay?" In the midst of being EXTREMELY involved with NOW I noticed a huge change in focus along about 1975. At the time, I was in close contact with NOW members all over the country. Due to several shifts (alimony being one of them) and in upper management within the NOW organization, the focus moved away from equal rights for women to bashing men. Many many heated arguments ensued and many dedicated people (men and women) left the organization because of it. The "deadbeat dad" meme was just one part of all that. In this case, the inference was that the only deadbeats out there were daddies and mommies got a pass. Bullshit. The focus SHOULD have been the best interests of the children but instead became about beating up on men.
