Wingnuts going crazy over Drudge's Michael Ware report...
Does anyone have a link to the clip?

The drudge nuts and other wing nuts are flying all around moaning about Ware supposedly "heckling" John McCain.

Of course, no one has seen any video yet. Anyone know of a link to it?

1. Let 'em go nuts.
It's as entertaining as watching a monkey attempt intercourse with a bowling ball.

Besides, as you said, there is no evidence to support. But if Ware did call McCain on his busshit in public, more power to Ware.

13. So, Michael Ware tells it like it is, which doesn't match McCain's
assessment, so now Ware is heckling. These people are so afraid of being proved wrong in their support of Bush and his war that they refuse to hear or acknowledge the truth.

16. I think the heckling they're talking about happened yesterday
After St. John made his messianic pilgrimage through a block of Baghdad. He apparently had a press conference afterword and Ware wouldn't let him off the hook for his foolishness last week. So THAT is the hectoring..

But it's all good for St. john, who now gets wingnuts to defend him....after they'd kvetched for years about how inauthentic his wingnut credentials are.

17. If there's a clip, the RW media should cough it up.

Ware says it didn't happen, and he suggests that anyone who thinks otherwise might want to view the video of the press conference.

2. Who cares what the wingnuts think? Ware is right and McCain is pathetic.
Whether Ware heckled or not doesn't change the fact that the invasion of Iraq was immoral, illegal, based on lies and a historical military disaster.

Let them get worked all up about Ware all they want. Won't change the truth.

6. Probably the "neverland" comment Ware landed right on the tail of McCain's inanities re: Iraq.
Edited on Sun Apr-01-07 11:16 PM by pinto
Ware was right on and, as always, blunt.

http://www.democrats.com/senator-john-insane-lives-in-neverland

Excerpts from a 3/27 Wolf Blitzer interview with Ware, on CNN:

WOLF BLITZER: CNN's Michael Ware is standing by -- Michael, you've been there, what, for four years. You're walking around Baghdad on a daily basis.

Has there been this improvement that Senator McCain is speaking about?

MICHAEL WARE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, I'd certainly like to bring Senator McCain up to speed, if he ever gives me the opportunity. And if I have any difficulty hearing you right now, Wolf, that's because of the helicopter circling overhead and the gun battle that is blazing just a few blocks down the road.

Is Baghdad any safer?

Sectarian violence -- one particular type of violence -- is down. But none of the American generals here on the ground have anything like Senator McCain's confidence.

I mean, Senator McCain's credibility now on Iraq, which has been so solid to this point, has now been left out hanging to dry.

To suggest that there's any neighborhood in this city where an American can walk freely is beyond ludicrous. I'd love Senator McCain to tell me where that neighborhood is and he and I can go for a stroll.

And to think that General David Petraeus travels this city in an unarmed Humvee. I mean in the hour since Senator McCain has said this, I've spoken to some military sources and there was laughter down the line. I mean, certainly, the general travels in a Humvee. There's multiple Humvees around it, heavily armed. There's attack helicopters, predator drones, sniper teams, all sorts of layers of protection.

So, no, Senator McCain is way off base on this one -- Wolf.

<...>

Michael, when Senator McCain says that there are at least some areas of Baghdad where people can walk around and -- whether it's General Petraeus, the U.S. military commander, or others, are there at least some areas where you could emerge outside of the Green Zone, the international zone, where people can go out, go to a coffee shop, go to a restaurant, and simply take a stroll?

WARE: I can answer this very quickly, Wolf. No. No way on earth can a westerner, particularly an American, stroll any street of this capital of more than five million people.

I mean, if al Qaeda doesn't get wind of you, or if one of the Sunni insurgent groups don't descend upon you, or if someone doesn't tip off a Shia militia, then the nearest criminal gang is just going to see dollar signs and scoop you up. Honestly, Wolf, you'd barely last 20 minutes out there.

I don't know what part of Neverland Senator McCain is talking about when he says we can go strolling in Baghdad.

7. McCain: With 100 men and 5 helicopters I can stroll here too! Hahaha
...That's how mature McCain's response was/is.

Ware needs to get out of the Green Zone (alone, without any protective gear....)

but...but...I thought the whole point was McCain saying that Ware would be perfectly safe if he did this? little help?

although I did notice this in an article on the trip:

Graham, who was on his sixth trip to Iraq, said his past visits have required more security than Sunday's trip.

Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander there, was so confident in the security situation that he told the lawmakers they could remove their helmets "at our discretion," Pence said. They retained their body armor, he said.

ooh, so safe that surrounded by military and heavy vehicles, on a secret trip, they could take their helmets off if they wanted to, of course.

I mean, is there a more apt summary of the neo-con view of the world then that?

14. Michael Ware denied heckling McCain.
He stated this on CNN this morning. In fact, he said he never said a word during the press conference.

I'll take Ware's word over Sludge any day.
