In light of the recent news that the 3 Democratic frontrunners have all dropped out of the Fox News/CBC debate...it sends a powerful message that the Dems no longer want to deal with hatemongering and fearmongering. Question is, is Fox News and Murdoch getting the message?

1. They'll never get it. They just scream into their echo chamber and consider everyone who doesn't
agree 'far left liberals,' even if they know we are factually correct. "F" them and all who look like them.

3. That's right.
They'll just ramp up the volume even more, charging that the Dems are stifling debate of the issues.

2. Only if affects their income will they get the message.
They are paid and paid damn well to be the RW noise machine. That's where the profit has been for the last decade or so.

It looks like that might be starting to change, however.
If the the ratings go down and the $$$ stop rolling in, then they may get the point.

5. No
All fux-murdoch cares about is money, advertising, ratings, and big corporate mergers.

It's a corporo-fascist system we live in now.

6. "Fox News" is a staple of most waiting-rooms.
At most local car dealerships, redneck bars, governmental offices, gyms, etc:, you see Doocey, Kilmead, Brit, Shep, Neil, Billo, and the blond dolls spewing their garbage. What's really annoying is when a sign on top of the TV reads "please don't change the channel."

9. They Don't Care
Fox doesn't give a rat's ass whether they are respected. They are about THE MESSAGE. That's what makes them propagandists, instead of journalists.

They look to the effect, not the words. They care nothing for the truth of words. Only effect.

Goebbels would be proud of Faux News.

10. They are a joke
and they know it.

Their "fair and balalanced" marketing is tongue in cheek and they expect people to know it.

People here need to stop assuming that they are truly marketing themselves as journalists. One could argue that they have higher expectations of people than most DUers do.

I hate to watch it and listen to their party line, too. That they have the financing for an entire channel points to an imbalance in media and corporate access. This is what we should address.

They are the equivilent of John Stewart who has less air time, but who we must acknowledge supports our positions more often than not.

We need more airtime.

11. By dropping out, the Dems are not just sending a message to Fox
They're sending the message to the entire country that Fox is not a credible news source and people are going to finally start catching on because of this. The Democrats are educating the country OUR style, not theirs. It's about time.

13. Damn right

the best thing we can do is just expose Faux as the complete right-wing propaganda ministry we know they are, and we do that by removing the edifice of objectivity.

Believe it or not, DEMOCRATS give Faux News their CREDIBILITY. If no Democrat ever went on there it would just be another form of the Limbaugh show. Who listens to that? Raving rightwing freaks and some Dems who just want to hear the other side. But objective, non-partisan people don’t listen to him.

To those people NOT IN THE KNOW of Faux’s true agenda they would eventually get it and figure out they aren’t watching news, but relentless right-wing propaganda when every single viewpoint is coming from the same direction. To those married to Conservatism, nothing will change their mind anyway, let them rot in FauxNews hell.

I applaud any Democrat who rejects this news channel, because they are saying, 'enuff is enuff with 'news-propaganda'. Faux news is subverting our Democracy and should be treated as any agenda-driven freak in a nation such as ours: By simply ignoring them.

12. Murdoch has incredibly deep pockets.
I suspect Fox Network is more important to him as a Propaganda tool and he'll just keep propping it up financially, even if it loses quite a bit of money.
