Dem candidates w/ national media access need to STRONGLY BACK UP Pelosi NOW.
She's being targeted by ad campaigns now by those lying about her trip in an effort to smear her.

This is a coordinated attack every bit like the Swifts - and it is up to Dems with access to national media to give her SOLID back up.

No half-measures will do on this. They already had a week of corporate media spin setting in against Speaker Pelosi.

1. Wholeheartedly agree! But not just the Dem candidates
EVERY Democrat in Congress should be getting in the face of the cables and other "reporters".

2. Absolutely you are right - I just know that Dem candidates are all speaking out every day SOMEWHERE
and on their websites where they can encourage their supporters to help take up this cause.

This battle is one Dems can't afford to put off, because this entire issue will be used against us for the next year.

3. Not just the candidates, but WE need to get on them too. The media
whores need to hear from their viewers, and the advertisers on their stations need to hear from the viewers, so they know we are not being fooled by their koolade-mainlining lies and spin and distortion and deceit.

any traction.

This is exactly how they operate. Spend days smearing Pelosi and then switch topics when a defense has a chance to build and attack back.

Corpmedia relies on Dems' partywide attention deficit disorder problems.

We need to keep bombarding them with LTTE and emails and phonecalls.

7. That's not the point - the corpmedia is misstating the facts of the story
and will become the conventional view of the event.

THAT is how the attacks become insidious.

Kerry could take any criticism because he'd already been through machine gunfire and rocket attacks and was targeted heavily by RW nuts who threatened his life over his support for gays in the military.

Insults and lies against him never really bothered him, but they should have bothered those Dems around him, just as lies against ANY Dems need to be beat down en masse.

Hell - Republicans will support each others' lies with more enthusiasm than most Dems will back up other Dems with the truth.

8. I do think they should be more vocal in their support, but I don't think
this will hurt her any--in fact, GOPers are overdoing it, and there will probably be a sympathy backlash.

10. that doesn't change the conventional wisdom that is setting in stone because people
think it's OK to ignore the smears and the lies used to enhance the smears.

13. Exactly - all the prominent Dems should speak out TOGETHER to back her up 100%
The GOPs are great at rallying around each other, and will do it cheerfully even for lies.
