Does the GOP have anything to offer the country other than old white guys?

McCain is 70. Thompson is 64. Rudy is 62. Romney, who is 60, actually looks pretty good standing next to these geezers.

And none of the three mentioned above even look healthy enough to be president. They all look about a decade older than they really are. Some pictures of McCain make him look like he's almost 80.

really sad thing is, they know it. There isn't any "Republican" of the old guard around anymore, the younger ones are all Neo Cons and I think they know that the country wouldn't touch that with a 50 foot pole.

But I think most of them understand that it's smarter to sit this one out, let the party crash and burn, then make their bones in the resurrection. The more old white guys get tarnished, the more room at the top.

sick (or sick-looking) old geezers. It hasn't happened in many years. Reagan looked positively vital in 1980 compared to these old croakers.

5. Bullshit....the American people elected Reagan.

Even though he was an "old white guy" obviously painted by the best make-up artists in Hollywood, with hair so dyed, it's probably still black as Cheney's heart.

In his second election, he was obviously pre-Alheimic, and they still elected his tired old ass.

We need to work for this election. I don't care what "old white guy" the Repubs dredge up.

6. Oh, no doubt his image and appearance were manipulated--I can't

believe we actually had a prez who was brain-addled throughout his second term (well, Chimpy is too, but that's from Jack Daniels and cocaine). Point being, though, that he looked pretty good, and seemed healthy--rosy red cheeks and all. These guys they have now can't even fake it--they aren't aging well at all. I think you're right that we need to take them out at the (old, arthritic) knees as soon as possible--can't take anything for granted. But our candidates are the picture of the future--their candidates look like soon-to-be-extinct dinosaurs.
