7. he did not confirm nor did he deny it when Judy W. asked him
directly.

Probably didn't want to give her the scoop.

I surely wish that he would endorse Edwards instead, but it definitely looks as if he is going to endorse Kerry tomorrow.

Wesley Clark to endorse Democratic front-runner John Kerry

NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer
(02-12) 11:59 PST WASHINGTON (AP) --

Wesley Clark will endorse presidential contender John Kerry, a high-profile boost for the front-runner as he looks to wrap up the party's nomination, according to Democratic officials.

With next week's Wisconsin primary looming, Clark plans to join Kerry at a campaign stop in Madison, Wis., Friday to make a formal endorsement, said officials, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Clark spokesman Matt Bennett would not confirm the endorsement, and would only say, "General Clark is looking forward to going to Wisconsin to be with Senator Kerry."

Kerry has racked up wins in 12 of 14 Democratic contests and hopes to add Wisconsin to his win column. The backing of Clark, who registered in the low double digits in earlier Wisconsin polls, could increase Kerry's advantage in a state with 72 pledged delegates at stake.

4. Gephardt didn't officially endorse Kerry
when the story first broke -- he waited until a joint campaign appearance. That's the way it's done and it will happen at the WI event tomorrow.

5. I saw Wesley Clark's interview on CNN.
He didn't come out and say he would endorse Kerry. We should be used to Clark behaving this way. He must enjoy keeping people hanging.

10. If Clark is set to endorse Kerry I would have to think that people
in the know believe that Drudge's report today is pure bullshit. If there was even the slightest hint it's true Gen. Clark would be holding back on an endorsement.

16. Perhaps Clark as VP might be part of that statement?
If so - Clark supporters have a reason to rejoice!

He talked about thanking his supporters, helping the Democrats in general, and defeating Bush. They pressed him for an endorsement, but he said he's still thanking supporters for now.

21. If I were Clark I would NEVER give my respects to Edwards in such a manner
All we can do is sit and watch. Kerry will be very pleased I'm sure.

23. Clark has behaved from day one as a man who wanted to get Edwards out
of the race.

From day one (the official annoncement) to claiming that Edwards's tax plan wasn't progressive, Clark has consistently done things targeted at taking apart Edwards's campaign.

Although I'm pretty sure internal polling shows that the average Clark supporter (non-DU'er, obviously) has Edwards in second place, I would NEVER expect Clark to support Edwards. Regardless of what people on the ground think, the people at the top of the Clark campaign don't seem to want Edwards to be the next POTUS.
