What, if any, are the penalties for not responding to a congressional subpoena? Does it then to to a court and can the offending parties be held in contempt.
All I know is that a congressional subpoena has the force of law. Violating it results in penalities that I imagine are similar, if not harsher, than ignoring a court's subpoena.
Can be held in custody as a coercion to testify (like McDougal) ~~ which would be an indefinite time of sentencing and remains in place until there is a determination that holding the citee is futile. Or...it could be a definite time of sentencing for the disobedience.
