By JOHN HENDREN

April 13, 2007— There are questions swirling again today about one of the most powerful men in the Bush administration. The White House found itself in the uncomfortable position of defending its handling of e-mails that could relate to the firings of the eight U.S. attorneys, saying that although some messages have been deleted, they were handled with the "utmost integrity."

The missing e-mails, which could number in the millions, include exchanges from some of the Bush administration's highest ranking members.

Responding to questions about the e-mails — some sent through the Republican National Committee and other private accounts and later deleted — White House spokesperson Dana Perino said, "I will admit it. We screwed up and we're trying to fix it."

But Perino insisted, "There is no indication of any improper ."

Millions of E-Mail Records Likely Missing
Asked about reports that as many as 5 million e-mail messages from the 1,700 employees of the White House could be missing, she said, "We're looking into that."

1. Above and beyond the fact that they are missing...

5 million? 5 fucking million? 5. Million.

4. I suspect the emails were the delivery system for Rove talking points to all republican operatives
in that case, I don't find 5 million to be an outrageous number of emails to exist. It IS, however, an outrageous number of emails to lose inadvertantly.

5. That makes sense...
...I was thinking more along the lines of that many different outgoing messages with as many subject headings.

2. Since they've consistently stonewalled, obfuscated, and conveniently forgotten
the object of every investigation for 6 years from the energy commission onward, this is so-o-o assuring.

/sarcasm

SUBPOENA them NOW !!!

3. Um, the parallel email system itself was improper
The spin that Clinton did it too has been debunked. They did not have a separate email and Blackberry system. They had non-networked computers.

Having a separate system is improper. You either archive the email or delete it. One is the "utmost integrity" the other is destruction of something that needs to be saved according to the law.

How do they say this bullshit without being laughed at? The press are complicit if they don't challenge.
