"Generation Dem-Dems staggering 30 point lead among those under 30. Rove is getting his realignment"
From Andrew Sullivan:

Generation Dem
14 Apr 2007 02:24 pm

The Democrats now have a staggering 30 point lead among those under 30. Rove is getting his realignment.

Democrats Lead by 10 in Congressional Ballot Poll

April 13, 2007

Forty-five percent (45%) of American voters say they would currently vote for the Democrat in their district while 35% would pull the voting lever for a Republican. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found 6% favoring a third-party option while 15% are not sure.

Democrats lead by five percentage points among men, by fourteen points among women. Nancy Pelosi’s party holds a staggering 30-percentage point lead among voters under 30. Separate surveys have shown that a declining number of Americans now identify themselves as Republicans. (More Below)

The poll also found that, for the first time since Election 2006, a plurality of voters view Congressional Democrats as politically liberal. Forty-one percent (41%) of voters believe most Democrats in Congress are politically liberal while 39% say they are politically moderate. That’s a significant shift to the left since the Democrats formally took control of Congress in January. Last December, just 32% viewed the Democrats as politically liberal while 44% viewed them as moderates (see tracking history).

-snip-
Forty-one percent (41%) of American voters believe it is Very Likely that Democrats will retain control of Congress following the next election. Another 27% say it is Somewhat Likely the Democrats will retain control. Just 21% disagree and expect control of Congress to change in the 2008 elections.

1. So "Republican" is the label with which people won't identify themselves.
They attempted to corrupt "Liberal" as a derrogatory term.

Payback. :D

8. I have a theory that this is all related to why the "Republican" Party has had to change their name
Edited on Sat Apr-14-07 02:34 PM by w4rma
so many times over the course of American History. Whereas the Democratic Party has been around since the Democratic-Republican Party.

3. Please note: They see a left-shift and they LIKE it.
It's time to reveal that the genius Karl Rove is a covert DNC operative. Tell Novak.

4. My Daughters Registered as Dems before ME
When they first starting voting at 18. They are now 23 and 28 and have voted in every election since they were eligible.

I just switched this past November having been an Independent for 30+ years. Maybe Mom doesn't always know best?

5. The Republican Party is the new Flat Earth Society
Evolution? Never happened.
Stem cells? NO way.
Iraq War? Going GREAT.
Global Warming? Melting glaciers mean nothing.
Economy tanking? Outsource jobs.
Deficit ballooning? Tax cuts for the rich only.

That's their problem. Their agenda is defined by the brain dead crazies.

The real Republican is just a greedy, hypocritical asshole who is hostile to doing anything that doesn't benefit him directly and immediately. They should market themselves more honestly. Sadly, I think this would sell better than the Neo-Luddite marketing campaign they are currently running.

10. Exactly! The GOP's desire hold back society from meaningful...
progress is failing. Americans see that there is no future with the GOP. They are the party of the "old world".

27. That matters in the short term, but not the long term
When you think about it, the Millenial generation's days in power are still at least twenty years in the future, if not more. Until then we'll be a positive presence, but not a dominant one. I'm not talking about one election cycle.

14. My nieces are 17 and 20 and they are so f@#$ing cool and informed.
I LOVE them. They are smart and compassionate and hip and funny and educated and media-savvy and totally, completely liberal.

I like their generation much better than mine -- which came of age under that braindead swindler Reagan -- wearing their preppy little oxfords and penny loafers and argyle sweater vests and believing in all things Republican. :eyes:

That mama and her kittens are wonderful! Mama's so pretty! I'll bet mama will be a very good pet in time. As I type this, one of my own lovey boys is telling me it's time to turn in, so good night!
