Why are some Dean supporters so happy about Kerry's troubles?
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 06:07 PM by jeter
Jeez, I understand you want to win. But will the nomination be worth winning after an attack like this?

I don't know if it's true. I have heard that Kerry kept company with women between his first and second marriage which won't be a problem.

But I think the GOP are going to try to attack him by innuendo. That because he fooled around then, it must be true if fools around now.

The Dean people are making a grave error if they think this will help Dean.

If no evidence of an affair comes out and this hurts Kerry's chances against Bush - and by extension our chances to finally get rid of the murderer.

Then the only people we hurt is ourselves. Beat Kerry on the issues if you can. But don't get sucked into the GOP plan of attacking Kerry on this crap. The GOP will say, "jeez, we never said anything. It was the Democrats (wink wink)."

Then regardless of the stories truthfullness, it will be out there and people will believe it.

This hurts all of us. If Kerry's numbers drop and our chances diminish do you think Kerry supporters will suddenly stop and say - yes, that Howard is the way to go.

I'm sorry guys. But this is so low that I can't believe it. Dean supporters are loyal. But this is beyond any attack thus far.

If it's not true, we should tear into the Republicans for trying to smear a good candidate. Not reward them by acting as if IT IS TRUE and thereby give them justification for bringing it up in the first place.

If any Democratic candidate uses this against Kerry, I'm done with them. Period. I don't care.

What did Kerry say about Dean "I can do better against Bush." This somehow compares with these sleazy allegations?

Dean supporters will turn to who when the guns turn against them?

2. What makes you think they are?
Just because a few seem to be, that means ALL Dean supporters are happy? I'm sure there are a few Kucinich, Edwards and Sharpton supporters that are happy about it too - you gonna call 'em out? Don't give me this BS that Dean supporters are jumpin' up and down over what Kerry has done.

We're scared that THIS will kill us in the general election. And if there is a chance that it will, we want it to end BEFORE it gets to the general election.

12. Exactly.
If Kerry can't take the heat, Dean or Edwards or whoever might be able to. Better to make sure this sort of thing is worked out before the GEs.

3. I don't think they're 'happy about it'.
I think they, along with MANY supporters here of other candidates, are rightly concerned about it.

7. Thank you!
We want to stop it before it gets to the general election. IF this is true, which NO ONE here is saying it is, he can't be the nominee or he'll lose.

4. that's a blanket statement
Most Dean supporters aren't happy about this. I recall posting several times over the last few months about how the right-wing attack machine will go after whomever is the front runner. This is sleaze as usual by Mr. Sludge. We still have 9 months to go before election day so be prepared.

5. Just for the record - I'm not happy about this.
Better that it be proven false (hopefully) very soon and put to rest. If this happens it will demonstrate to a lot of folks just how rabid the Rove machine is and might make some begin to think that Bush* and Co. lie frequently, about anyone and about anything.

9. Who knows what dirt there is on Dean?
I know a whole lot less about Dean's personal likfe than I do about Kerry. It disturbs me greatly to see Dean start the personal attacks against Kerry. I liked him a whole lot better when he was making the Republican administration the object of his attentions.

13. Give me a break
this Dean supporter is SICK AND TIRED of being blamed for all negativity on this forum. Why do people think they can paint with such a broad brush.
Would you like links to certain Edwards supporters posts? I'll provide them. Would you like links to Dean supporters trashing Drudge? I'll provide them.
Until then LAY OFF.

17. Excuse me?
I understand there's been some bruhaha about Sen. Kerry today but I haven't delved into the details. But if it diverting us from the main task of our time, defeating the junta, I am certainly NOT happy about it. That is all I have to say.

21. For the record
I believe Kerry should withdreaw from the race because he's bankrolled by FAUX News, and advised by traitorous PNAC shitheads.

I couldn't care less what he does with his penis.

23. I'm not happy about it
Though it's kinda funny, 'cause I'm now remembering all the shit that went down around here over The Scream.

I remember quite a few people pointing out that the media was being unfair, that Kerry would suffer from similar distortions when his time came, etc., and a lot of people brushed it off as sour grapes.

I don't like unfair and/or unsubstantiated attacks against any candidate - not even W. My ultimate loyalty is to honesty.
