Kucinich’s White House Bid Stronger on Fervor Than Funds
As he did in 2004, Ohio Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich is running a longshot campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination on an antiwar platform — and on a shoestring budget.

In a filing to the Federal Election Commission made by Sunday’s deadline, Kucinich reported $345,000 in receipts for the first quarter of 2007, bringing his total (including a small amount he raised in 2006 after forming his presidential campaign committee in December) to $359,000.

Kucinich is a veteran politician from Cleveland, but he actually received very little in the first quarter from Ohio donors — about $5,300 in itemized donations, meaning those that aggregated to more than $200. He took $41,000, or nearly 12 percent of his total, from individual donors in California.

Kucinich generally received numerous small donations. About two-thirds of Kucinich’s overall receipts were unitemized, meaning that they were under $200.

2. No, but in the real world it certainly is a factor
If he can't convince people to open their wallets, what makes you think that hte can convince them to vote for him? It would seem that Mr. Kucinich is replaying his highly unsuccessful 2004 campaign.
