5. He'll spend time with his family next week.
That little Hitler wanna-be occupying the White House doesn't like dissent.

6. This is a turning point, IMO--I thought Gates was a somewhat
rational guy. This proves it.

8. There have been a number...
...of Pentagon-related news reports that I've read of late, that suggests to me that the military has broken with the WH on a number of key issues.

When Bush claimed that soldiers and their families wouldn't be paid if "Congress forces him to veto" the current legislation (I won't even address the hypocrisy of the WH caring about soldeirs and their families). But then Pentagon later released statements saying that wasn't the case. That they had other funds available that could be diverted to address that and in accordance with the law.

And other statements about nationwide troop readiness and the depletion of resources for troops in the field, undermine the WH military intentions toward Iran. While the recent three-month extension of troop deployments adds to Bush's downturn in the polls. All this bad news all emanating from the Pentagon. Hmmm....

These revealing comments by Gates in support of a timetable further separates the Bush/Cheney Cabal from a critical source of their foreign policy. Next up? Gates calls for investigations into Halliburton contracts.

{WH: "Everybody abandon ship!"}

Its getting so that they don't have that many friends left. Before long, Dubya will be stinking drunk and talking to pictures in the early hours like Nixon was during his final days....

10. I believe that he also supported the ISG recommendations as well
but he is more loyal foot soldier to the BFEE than someone who will take a principled stand for something.
