Cheney Swipes Reid on Iraq - Kerry Rips Cheney’s “Interpretative History”

Dick Cheney took a swipe at Harry Reid today saying that Reid’s comments were “uninformed and misleading.” and accused him of “defeatism” on Iraq.

Cheney said he felt compelled to make a statement in front of cameras to express his personal frustration with Reid, D-Nev., after the Senate majority leader told reporters last week the war was lost. Cheney’s remarks also showed the high stakes involved for the White House in trying to stave off Democratic efforts to end the war.

John Kerry hit Cheney back, ripping Cheney’s attacks on Reid “as disturbing as they are disingenuous” and he dismissed the vice president as “the American Idol of outlandish claims.”

4. Reid's statement was conditional

That's probably what got under Crash Cart's thin little skin: Reid said the war was lost if the United States kept following the Bush/Cheney strategy. It wasn't an absolute statement, as Cheney would like his gullible fans to believe. There is still time and space for a decent outcome in Iraq, but it sure as hell isn't going to happen as long as we're following the Bush/Cheney prescription of blind clusterfucking. And the solution isn't more clustering and harder fucking.
