Chapel Hill, North Carolina � Senator John Edwards released the following statement following the death of nine Fort Bragg paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq.

"Elizabeth and I join the Fort Bragg community and the nation in mourning the loss of these brave soldiers. They are part of the honorable story of the 82nd Airborne. Each loss is deeply painful for us and for the country, but the greatest loss is to those who loved them. Elizabeth and I send our prayers and our deepest sympathies to their families."
