Poll question: How many people voted Kerry/Edwards 2004. Just curious.
And if you could post your city/state, I'd appreciate it.

No offense intended. Your state isn't shaped like a mitten like ours.

please accept my offer of :toast: :hi: :pals: :headbang: and all the other positive smilies I can come up with

I live 5 miles away from a village with a population of less than 300 in the middle of nowhere; you wouldn't know where it was if I told you.

Yeah, but there are some who may have voted independent.

It's just with the new stuff out on the voting manipulation in Ohio, I wondered how many out of us here on DU voted Kerry/Edwards.

I'm bad with exact recollection. Not as bad as Alberto, but ...

Anyway, it seems to me in one area they attributed to late Evangelical turnout, people voted for *ush and said yes to gay marriage ammendment. Sounds like a flipped vote to me.

I didn't like John Kerry, but it was so absolutely essential to defeat Bush that I did two things I had never done before since becoming a voter in 1975:

1) I gave money to a candidate (Kerry)

2) I worked on a campaign, travelling to Ohio in the days before the election to help get out the vote for Kerry. In fact, I was in Cuyahoga County. It sickens me to think some of the people I ushered to the polls had their votes stolen.

Luv to hear from people in Cali.

Exception - Diane Feinstein. DEM my ass. Dino.

Grrr. Just found out she's the one who "ratted" Carol Lam out.
Called into question Lam's policy of going after criminal illegals first to put them away for crimes.
Sounds like a logical method. Protect the people from those doing the bad stuff first. She also was about deterring people from illegal border crossing to begin with. Actually had a decent immigrant policy and a great conviction rate.

54. I have the Huey Lewis "Heart of Rock N Roll" in my mind as cities pop up here.

Huh, Huey was in the play Chicago

http://www.hln.org
cool ode

<snip>
Mr. Bartlett read a poem that he had written especially to send off Huey. Mr. Bartlett was kind enough to send it to this reporter to share with everyone here on HLN.org. (Special thanks to you Rob Bartlett! - who by the way sends his best to all you Huey Lewis and the News fans!) Here it is:

Through the Heart of Rock and Roll and the Power of Love,
You showed us it was Hip to Be Square.
But now you want a new job.
One that won't make you sick.
One that won't make you work so hard.
One that won't make you bored too quick.
We've had some fun, and yes we've had our ups and downs.
Been down that rocky road but here we are still around.
Yes it's true, we were happy to be Stuck with You!
With love,
From your Chicago Family

90. As I shared with you all, I was a Republican then.
So I admit I didn't vote for them.

My first presidential vote has the blood and tears of hundreds of thousands all over it...

93. Well...
I voted for Kerry/Edwards, but there was a problem.

Even though I'd registered months earlier (moved from NJ to CA), and received my registration confirmation/election materials/voting location information, they didn't have me on the rolls. They had my name and address information, but I was only allowed a provisional ballot. Most ridiculous thing in the world...

Los Angeles, CA.

110. This poll is NUTS !!!
Wasn't it like 53 million votes nationwide - and those are just the ones they counted!

It's assumed that all of us on this Forum support Democratic candidates at election time.

It's even part of the Forum rules! So I refuse to take part in this dumb poll.

And I held my nose to mark the ballot. It was strictly an "Anyone but W" vote. Hell, I even canvassed, did GOTV, etc to defeat W. Still lost.
