The Pumps in NO, the private contractor abuse in Iraq, the sleazy DC Madam stuff, to name just a few in the news currently....
All of this hurts those in the profession of governing...
People become more and more cynical about the process and then give up on even voting...
And when fewer people turn out to vote, the process become a race to see which party can get build the strongest, most loyal political base...
For the GOP, this has resulted in the faith based bullshit, a growing community of exploited true believers, and Big Business, which prospers in a good business climate, essentially an anything goes approach to running a business championed by the free marketeers in the GOP....
For the Dem's, this has typically been Big labor and minorities, a shrinking population in the former and an easily, as proved by the last election, disenfranchised population in the latter...
It sure doesn't help that the GOP doesn't even seem to worry about the blatant corruption...
It's obvious they feel they can get away with anything as long as they continue to play to the true believers...
This is how the pollsters look at this shit...
This is how the "consultants" construct a message...
Just remember, when people you know outside of your circle of politically active acquaintances comment that "all politicians are corrupt", it's the democrats who loose, not the republicans...
