Grrr what is wrong with these parents " Prayer service for missing girl"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6629471.stm

The parents of the British girl feared abducted from a holiday apartment in Portugal have attended a church service to pray for her safe return.

Prayers were said at the Algarve resort where three-year-old Madeleine McCann from Leicestershire was seized.

..cut..

Their daughter who went missing on Thursday from their apartment at Mark Warner's Ocean Club while they were at a restaurant nearby.

The complex offers a creche service but the couple decided to leave Madeleine and two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie sleeping in the apartment.

They had been taking turns to return to the block to check on their children.

..more at link...

:grr: too cheap for a babysitter, so you leave a 3 yo and two 2 yo alone with you go out to eat....

1. Unfortunately children always have to suffer from the stupidity of
their parents. Not are the parents stupid, they are selfish.

2. A 3-year-old and a pair of 2-year-olds????
Alone in an apartment while out for dinner?

I get edgy locking my 2-year-old in the car while I run into a gas station to pay. Even though I can see him the entire time!

I can't even imagine.

So are they going to wait until the kids are recovered before filing child-endangerment charges?

7. Shoot, I get paranoid leaving my furry four-legged girl home alone
She's a good doggie girl and sleeps through the day, but I worry about fire... I must have every window plastered with those "Fireman, please won't you save my pet" stickers.

How could any parent do this?

3. both doctors
so obviously, they had "done nothing that I'm sure many parents wouldn't have done". And will never face life imprisonment on what would obviously be negligence for anybody else.

I sincerely hope they get their little girl back and can go on and live a happy and peaceful life.

5. ok, so someone steals a three-year-old
and leaves two-year-old twins to sleep? and there is no report of anything else being stolen from the room?

this story is starting to smell like my ass...someone who obviously wanted to steal one kid and nothing else cased the joint and waited until a convenient time when they were left alone...and someone just walks out without security cameras seeing anything?

6. this is not uncommon in Europe
I was looking for an apartment...the realtor let me in, there was a six week old baby in the bed, not a crib, and no parent. The mother came in while we were there. I could barely keep from hitting her.
One time I was at a party at a house, we were going across the street to a gasthaus. The mothers all left the kids in the house. I left the party. People I spoke with didn't seem to think it was a problem.

8. Wasnt there a story a few years ago about a Danish couple
who were visiting the United States with their baby? I believe they went into a restaurant and left their baby in her carriage outside.
