WHOA! Repug reps take Georgie to woodshed.
Russert just on NBC news.
Transcript later.
Timmy was BUG-EYED.
Repug congressmen met with Bush, Rice, Rove, others and told him (basically) NO MORE BULLSHIT!

This could be it.
The beginning of the end for fearless leader.

10. The technical term is "job security"
Edited on Wed May-09-07 05:59 PM by rocknation
There are about two dozen GOP senate seats up for re-election in '08, and the more we can pick up in the House, the better. So of course they need to appear to be an alternative to Bush. But they're still so intimidated by the Bush monarchy they're still resorting to "private" meetings and press leaks. Wake me up when they're ready to say "NO MORE BULLSHIT" in public and with their names attached.

:boring:

12. Sorry. Wish I had some. Caught on the fly. A bit more:
Russert was INTENSE serious.
The repugs weren't anyone I'd ever heard of.
8 or 9 of them. Reps, not senators.
One told him "People in my district are PREPARED to 'lose', pull out."
"VERY frank 'exchange of views' happened."
That usually means somebody has given somebody else the ultimatum.
Should be a transcript up soon.
NBC evening news.

And I seriously doubt that many republic party reps have the cajones to go up against the regime. But I await the transcript with baited breath...

and then finally his Repuglimates will have their *own* reasons to finally admit what he really is (and vote for impeachment)

7. The reality is dawning on the Repukes that if they don't throw the chimp over the side
they will be looking at an absolute landslide next November.

This isn't about caring about the dead Americans or the dead Iraqis. This is about dead political careers.

Bush lives in a bubble. The Republican Party is no more; they are simply Bush enablers. The next time I see GOP dissent, will be the first.

don't fall for this ploy - look at their voting record and rhetoric when they were in the majority. If they played the un-patriotic card or screamed about "up-or-down-vote" or acted like bullies - they should be sent packing. I don't give a shit what they are saying or how they are voting now.

25. he's the 'carrion necktie'
maybe you've heard that when farmers would discover that an otherwise good dog would suddenly and relentlessly developed a taste for chickens, and nothing would stop the animal from its chicken snack, a radical fix was used to cure it! The farmer would take a dead chicken and tie it securely to the amused dog's neck (dog thinks it a game)...after a few days, the chicken begin rotting and the smell etc annoys the dog, after a week annoyance turns to revulsion, after 10 days (and sleepless nights) the maggots and toxic stench drive the dog crazy!...
lol
the 'chicken' is junyer bush; the 'dog' is the gop/bush supporters/mass mediawhores; the 'farmer' is we the people....
the carrion necktie cure ALWAYS WORKED!....always will work!....so GO bush!

30. And then, when the congressmen left the room...
Bush turned to Karl and said: "They serve at my pleasure right? I can just fire them. Yeah, I'll fire them."

Then, as an aside, he said to no one in particular:

"And get ahold of Cheney ASAP and have him tell those Eye-Rackees they can't go on vacation."

I don't believe this, or, at best, I have a hard time believing this. We have neo-con Russert telling us through neo-con NBC that neo-cons in the Congress and neo-cons in the Cabinet are telling neo-con Bush that "there's no credibility"??? "Come clean on Iraq"??? BULLSHIT! I don't know just yet what they're up to, but telling the truth is not it! :grr:

36. bwahaha - on them if they think that they were "heard".
Bushco is delusional and still think that through propoganda and dirty tricks they can keep getting their way. They no longer care about "the party" - they only care about themselves. I wouldn't expect any change in rhetoric, let alone policy as a result from this meeting.

37. I don't think this one is a trick
I think Pelosi and Murtha out scammed the scam team. Provided him with a bill that they knew he was going to veto, made a very public spectacle out of the event and Bush came out a bit bloodied, then they write up with another one with everything he requested (no "pork") as the said they would do and added a 90 day check point. Doing this knowing full well that the Iraqi Parliament is taking off 60 days. It was a beautiful plan, they took the heat for not being tough enough from their supporters but other than that won public opinion, then draft up a new bill and bring the point home that the Iraqi's are not taking responsibility. The truth of the matter is the Iraqi's aren't going to sign up for the oil sharing plan but the Dems have opened the debate on the war in round one, then force discussions as to why the Iraqi's won't stand up. So more people start questioning the war, "why should we send ours over there if they don't want to stand up?

So the repubs have to run to WH and finally start pushing back. They know there is no way in hell they can spin this was a good portion of their constituents, thus they lose their jobs. It also forces Cheney on to a plane to Baghdad to lay down the law with the Iraqi's and he gets his photo taken in an over sized flak jacket and looks like an ass! So they Dems are on offense and the Admin is on the Defense and making a lot of mistakes!

that bush and crew is going to listen. That was my point - they should have figured out by now the WH is self-interested and doesn't care about the GOP in congress, nor the GOP in general.

AGAIN. Pretending there is movement on Junior's failed policy in Iraq.
They have NO INTENTION of leaving Iraq. Not while Junior squats in the White House.
Not with all those shiny permanent bases.
Not with all our delicious oil under their sand.
