Ronald Reagan elicits the same response as Randolph Scott
did in the movie "Blazing Saddles". Whenever Scott's name was uttered, townsfolk bowed their head in reverence while ethereal music played in the background. Present day Republicans and their flacks have reversed the old axiom of tragedy being repeated as farce, by similar behavior when ever the Gipper's name is spoken aloud. What first occurred as tragedy now is nothing but farce.
The latest example of this misplaced adoration came on MTP, where Fat Timmy was once again busy doing his masters' bidding. NBC broadcasts yet another paean to Reagan, the man brought to you by the imagineers of GE. The RW would give just about anything to be thought of as the party of their faux hero, St. Ronnie, rather than their true representative, the hapless W. And Russert is ever willing to lend a helping hand.

1. Well, Cary Grant sure liked him. Randolph Scott, that is.

4. Every time one of these Republican mouthpieces discusses
St. Ronnie in tones usually reserved for church services or golf tournaments, the mental image of David Huddleston intoning "Randolph Scott" comes to mind. Thanks for the reply.

6. Now that's pretty damned funny!
The breathless, trembling hero worship is just too much.

Sorry - I've NEVER been a reagan fan. And I'm not about to start becoming one now.
