Wasn't there supposed to be a vote of "NO Confidence" on Gonzo today?
i thought I heard something about this over the weekend & that it might happen today (Monday). I haven't heard any discussion about it in the news or elsewhere. Anyone know anything about this or was it just an empty threat?

1. Whether they hold the vote or not, it is still an empty threat
Such a "vote of confidence" is purely symbolic and meaningless, no matter what the outcome of the vote is.

8. Not true.
It's an impeachment trial balloon. If 67 Senators are in favor, it means gonzo is impeachable/convictable.
It is a necessary tactical step towards impeachment.

12. Yes, but R's will filibuster or use procedural methods to prevent the vote.

3. If I Were The Dems I'd Wait Until After Monica Goodling Testifies On Wednesday And....
then pull the no confidence vote. I don't want Gonzo to resign before Monica Goodling has at him. I'm hoping more revelations will come out in her testimony that can further sink Rove and the WH.

If Gonzo resigns before Monica testifies - I can only think that it was done in hopes that people will lose interest thinking that all is good again - and not let the tentacles reach into the WH and Rove.

4. bush said it would be political theatre
The fake cowboy said that today at his fake ranch in front of a fake set designed to inspire the confidence of fake patriots. But never forget its the dems who utilize political theatre.

One thing I will say about bush's base, their ignorance and pride are 100% real, nothing fake about those conservative values.

5. I'd heard Tuesday
That is, provided of course, that it's not blocked from the floor. McConnell tossed it saying that there would be a "competing resolution". Probably something along the lines of "The Congress has Full Confidence in the President and Commander in Chief in the Constitution as provided by the God-fearing Christian Forefathers of this Nation".

9. "Competing Resolution"
Edited on Mon May-21-07 01:12 PM by BOSSHOG
The U. S. Senate hereby resolves to stop pestering the ignorant lackeys as long as our great leader still has confidence in them. Since our great leader apparently has only appointed ignorant lackeys and supports all of them, the senate will now be ajourned.

NN you aren't suggesting that McConnel HAS SOME POLITICAL THEATRE UP HIS SLEEVE are you?

13. Sure would explain the plane non-crash and the police chase.
What next, a backpack found at a bus station? White substance found at a baby-powder factory?
