Rep Artur Davis (D) Alabama
Edited on Fri May-25-07 06:33 AM by Botany

At the beginning of this week I had never heard of Congressman Davis
now at the end of the week I see him as the future of the party.

Tough, smart, calm, and articulate he cut through the Ms. Goodling's
rehearsed veneer of nothing "really big" went wrong @ the Dept. of Justice
and had her admit under oath that Gonzales lied to congress and the American
people.

And when I checked his vote on support of this failed war in Iraq
what did I see?

Nays

Davis (AL) {D}

I am sick to death of these spineless people (both dems & repubs) who fail
to stand up to what is clearly an administration that is not only doing
wrong both domestically and internationally but is also clearly criminal in nature.
The Attorney General is not supposed to break the law and lying under oath
is just that .... a crime.

I am also sick of people like Hillary & Obama who wait until it is safe to cast
their votes against the funding of the war. On this issue if you are against
this war get "out front" with your stance do not wait until your political capital
is safe and then act.

What bush & company did to start this madness in Iraq is no different than
what Hitler did in inventing a Polish attack on a German radio station to start
WW II. History is going to judge us very harshly for our actions and our failure
to stand up to that unelected phony cowboy.

But for me in Ohio all I can say is "Good on" Congressman Davis and shame
on my newly elected senator Sherrod Brown for voting for the war.

2. Yes, we need more like this man.
I was very impressed with his demeanor during the questioning of the blonde bushbot. He would not allow her or others to divert him from getting the answer.

3. Harvard Law School v Pat Robertson's School of Law
His skill and calm shredded her, the repugs trying to protect her,
and in turn Gonzales.

5. Yes, he remained calm and focused through it all.
Despite the interruptions from Republicans.

Despite her consulting with attorneys.

Despite it all, he was calm and focused on getting her answer. He would no doubt be very good in a crisis situation.

Anyone for Davis 2012? He's one to watch, in my opinion.

6. I would like to see him as Attorney General in 2009
"I would like a ruling from the chair please."

Was how he stopped the republicans attempts to stop
his line of questioning.

13. I'd never heard of him either
But I was impressed at his questions, and his demeanor, during the Goodling testimony. I think he'll go far.
