It's the troops that lost yesterday
Is not just that Bsh won.
It's how he did it.

He used our troops as pawns.
He played politics with the men and women that are over there fighting his war.

The Dems have always supported the troops no matter what.
We gave that little weasel all that he wanted, and more. We gave him more money for the troops, we gave the troops a raise, we gave them better health care, we gave the troops MRAPs to protect them from getting wounded. We gave them more time at home, and more training. And he vetoed it.

He pushed us in a corner that we couldn't get out. And we let him.
All of the time the Dems have been screaming about this war, they knew that bsh wanted money with no strings attached by Memorial Day. The Democratic leadership should have thought ahead. I have to place some blame here on poor management. They should have planned for this. They pushed the Democrats into a very awkward situation where they were damned if they voted for it and damned if they didn't.
You know damn well that if either Hillary or Obama gets the nomination, all we are going to hear about is how THEY didn't support the troops.
I'm sure that's why it took them so long to vote. They were forced in a no win situation politically.

But the truth is, it's the soldiers that lost yesterday.
Not only did they lose a plan to get out of there, they also lost all of the extras that the Democrats wanted to give them.

1. And most sadly of all, some will lose their lives and limbs in
the days, weeks, months ahead - while the President speaks to audiences who don't believe him, and the politicians debate resolutions. These lives lost must not be permitted to become empty statistics. Every day young American lives are being ended for a terrible mistake. I know that I am "preaching to the choir" here, but I get very, very frustrated and just writing about the frustration brings a little relief - relief for me, but not for the troops who now are "funded" to go ahead and drive up and down deadly streets in the middle of a civil war.
