Clinton's search for campaign song makes her "No.1 with a bullet."
WASHINGTON - Hillary Clinton's lighthearted quest for a new campaign song is No.1 with a bullet, at least on YouTube.

Clinton has passed her 2008 rivals on the hot video site since launching a self-mocking push to pick a new soundtrack to her White House run.

"She is engaging voters with this YouTube campaign," said Andrew Rasiej, of Techpresident.com, which tracks candidates' online efforts.

According to his site, Clinton has logged more than 1.3 million video views, the majority since she posted a pair of spots on YouTube's '08 Spotlight - one making fun of her own singing and another of goofy responses.

Rasiej said while John Edwards and Barack Obama have done better overall on the Net, Clinton's videos work because they draw in voters.

And, since YouTube has caught the eye of the larger media, Clinton has gotten an extra bounce in television and newspapers.

"This frankly humanizes her and shows she doesn't take herself too seriously," Rasiej said.

Team Clinton's Internet maven Peter Daou said more than 150,000 people have voted for songs and more than 25,000 have written in suggestions.

3. We all saw the impact YouTube can make with George Allen.
Candidates would be fools not to try to use it to their advantage.

5. Are you kidding me? I think I've had enough of the guy next door
that I want to drink a beer with. Beleive me Hillary ain't no soccer mom and shouldn't bother pandering. Besides I clicked on the youtube just to see what she was saying... Frankly, as usual, I felt she was as fake as usual.

9. I thought it was a great idea from the get-go.
She was charming in the video, a side of her most of those inclined to despise the way she breathes insist doesn't exist. YouTube is a medium that can work for or against the candidates, and kudos to her for working it to her advantage as opposed to another Macaca moment replayed over and over again.
