Should Bill Richardson drop out now?

After his self-destruction on Meet the Press and tonight's flaccid performance, should the Governor of New Mexico drop out of the race?

He can continue, but he's only burning more cash for nothing.

Some of you guys are letting the media manipulate you thinking curtain candidates have no shot.I watch a woman tonight being interviewed on CNN who was undecided say she was going to vote for Richardson after tonights debate. the media has there favorite candidate but the true voters will have there say. i think come Feb. 08 there are going to be some SURPRISES!! on who the people vote for in these primary's.

time for Jeff Probst to extinguish the flame of Bill "Jowls" Richardson. Have fun telling the morning shows "what went wrong" in the loser-segment tomorrow. (I don't think he helped himself walking around the island buck naked, not with that bod.) Hey wocky ho wocky hey nay na na...

The man wants to be President - let him have a chance.

Sure he's a longshot. So what? He can force the others into focusing on issues that they might overlook otherwise. Remember THEY'RE playing it safe. Richardson can't afford that.

Besides, I honestly think that Richardson is kind of running for the VP slot, and I think he'd help ANY ticket. He's Hispanic. That'll help. He's Southwestern. Everyone else is from the North and East. He's more conservative that the others. He's also more out there as anti-war without ducking for cover all the time. He'd be willing to say things that Hillary, Obama and Edwards might LIKE to say. So, he could "test" material for the top of the ticket.

Sometimes we suffer from an exaggerated sense of self-importance, and this is one of those times. The majority of the public watched their primetime shows, and the only thing they will know about the debates is the few seconds of coverage it will get on their local night newscast.

That's the problem with the disproportionate weight we give to Iowa and New Hampshire. They may all be excited about the attention they get from politicians, but the rest of the country is having a collective "Ho-Hum" about the whole thing.

Voters don't start paying attention until just before the elections. Right now they are fed up with Bush, gas prices, and the war, but they are not yet ready to start shopping for a replacement.

Richardson is a candidate who has a great deal of real life experience, has advanced ideas of considerable substance i.e. deauthorizing the Iraq war, a strong health care plan and a very strong energy/environmental plan.

He's apparently a good campaigner in person. What he's not good at is articulating his vision in a concise and forceful manner on TV. He has also failed to master the essential art of dissembling and misdirection in front of the camera. The man's a lousy liar.

As someone who prefers substance and experience over style and wants to vote for a candidate who had no role in getting us into this mess in Iraq, I could still vote for Richardson, but he needs to work on the style stuff.

Get a debate coach and a new barber, Bill. Personally I liked your old windblown style much better.
