6. Just a small town girl, Living in a lonely world, She took the midnight train going anywhere
Edited on Mon Jun-11-07 01:18 PM by shain from kane
(I thought it was a suburb of Chicago.)

Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit (I thought it was Hope, Arkansas.)
He took the midnight train going anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

CHORUS:
Strangers, waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

CHORUS

Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
Streetlight people

---A campaign song relating a chance encounter of 2 strangers, one of which is probably a prostitute, in a bar.
My interpretation is to keep trying, don't stop believing that you might find true love, but in a bar? Maybe not.

20. People love that song.
I was at a bar a few months ago and that song came on the juke box.

500 or so people upstairs & downstairs were singing full throated.

8. Ughhh
Heard a great one that would be PERFECT yesterday from a live NOLA fundraiser.

Won't give it away though.

Not until she requests the opinion of we, the people for something other than our musical preferences. Found that really insulting.

Maybe listen about the illegal occupation, the trashing of our Constitution, the rampant corruption, and that nefarious voting technology for starters.

Then we can give her something far more uplifting than friggingly dated and passee "Journey."
