Poll question: If an immigration bill passes, who gets the credit?
Doesn't matter what bill or what provisions so long as they're in the same ballpark as what the Dems and the White House are talking about now.

amnesty bill. The American worker once again will be screwed by a foreign slave wage workforce and a huge additional burden on the welfare health care system. The Democrats are as much a sellout to corporate america and as the rethugs.

3. Bush gets the credit
And our Democratic controlled congress gains nothing.

This bill only benefits employers who want to exploit workers and want cheap labor costs. Bush wants this bill pasted badly for his rich buddies. Reagan pasted a similar bill when he was in office.

Our Democratic congress has lost it's mind. Why would they push this through? Have the lobbyists convinced them?

The republican base is very upset about this. They have turned against Bush and many will leave the party over it.

4. We get "amnesty" either way.
Pass the bill and we get "legal" amnesty. Kill the bill and we get "defacto" amnesty - the illegal immigrants already here are not going anywhere and more will keep coming.

I know, I know: "Enforce the existing laws." Unfortunately, that has not happened under any administration due to either unenforceable legislation or political calculation. Just killing this bill will not change either of those.
