Fred Thompson appears to be King of Freeperville

The above poll has him running ahead of Duncan Hunter by a 3-to-1 margin in a composite member/non-member poll. The hard-cores favor him by a similar margin. Rudy barely registers, McCain even less.

I've read this in numerous places, maybe even here on DU.

Thompson is an actor and stagecraft (the fake red truck, fake clothes, fake persona) worked for him in the past in politics. So this doesn't surprise me. Freepers just "ditto" what they're told to think by the RW Wurlitzer that is the MSM today, and they've been told that fred is the guy they should get behind. If rove had blast-faxed to the RW Wurlitzer that they should talk up Duke Cunningham, he's be winning this "poll" instead.

Also note how the media has started building Thompson up and, like with bush, they're just promoting the fake image while ignoring the substance.
