No way! :wow:

I wonder if "the ragin' cajun" has any more pearls to bestow upon us...

Carville: Clinton Or Obama Will Win In 2008

(CBS4) WEST PALM BEACH A one time political strategist for former President Bill Clinton is predicting a Democrat will win the 2008 presidential race.

James Carville headlined the Palm Beach County Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson fundraiser Saturday night.

During his remarks, Carville said either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama will win the White House next year. Carville also said the country's dissatisfaction with President Bush will allow Democrats to widen their majority in Congress.

Carville said no one really knows at this point what impact Florida's January 29th primary will have on who wins the nominations, but that fund-raising will be very important.

Hundreds of Democratic donors, activists and elected officials packed a ballroom for the 150-dollar-a-plate dinner.

11. Carville's the same guy who said Dean failed to help the Dems during Election 2006 ...
even though the Dems took over both houses of Congress for the first time in 12 years. :eyes:

Who cares what Carville thinks? It's only June 2007 - a lot can happen between now and the first primary. As we saw with Dean, ANY campaign can unexpectedly crash and burn. I'm tired of the media and the political hacks who keep trying to manipulate us into accepting a particular candidate as the inevitable nominee when not a single vote has been cast. WE will choose the nominee - not Carville.

I don't know who the nominee will be - I know who I want it to be, but he hasn't jumped into the race ... yet. ;-)

Edited on Sun Jun-17-07 04:22 PM by madfloridian
What does it tell you that Florida features him so prominently. My point is made about our Florida Dems.

I despise Carville.

Kucinich was there, bet he felt a little bit insulted. That was slap in the face to all the other candidates.

23. Maybe Pelosi wasn't there? Not a word about her. Carville keynote.
For the Florida Dems to invite this fool to be keynote at their JJ dinner but advertise Pelosi makes me furious.

Sounds like Carville is the dearly beloved of the Florida Democrats. Well WTF they can have him.

While they are loving on Carville they are all insulting Howard Dean.

I am about on overload with this stupid state.

34. I'm With You There... Meanwhile Thurman Is Trying To Drum Up All
the support she can get as volunteers. They got MY name and want MONEY and anything else I can do for Floridian Democrats.

It's really difficult for me these days because I'm so torn about what to do. Living where I live, it sometimes seems futile to help out with anything. I want to be helpful, but so many times it's nothing but TALK and NO ACTION!! I know there are those up north who work at it, but I don't have the time or money to run all over the state to this meeting or that meeting just so I can hear about yet another meeting.

My husband is a native and his family roots are here so I KNOW I won't ever be moving out of here. I like my little corner of the world, but when it comes to politics... it STINKS!!!

and I know exactly what you mean. It's difficult to support the bungled machinations of local Dems, yet I refuse to leave this state. It would be tantamount to a capitulation to the dark side. Fuck 'em... we're here, we're progressive, get used to it!

Richardson worked in the Clinton administration.

So, what does Carville have against him?

24. Hope he has that trash can ready for his head again...
Maybe he's right. Certainly the top-loading of the primaries seems hell-bent to coronate Hillary, and the herd mentality has much support for her in the very same way Kerry led just because he led. Then there's the Obama fad; yes, he's got lots going for him, but a lot of the support smacks of being a fad, nothing more.

If Richardson could keep from stumbling so often, he could have a shot, and my favorite, John Edwards could actually pull out a southern state or two if he got the nod.

I'm still VERY dubious about Hillary's chances in a general election: she's got huge negatives.

Whatever, James; you've become a huge disappointment of late. I just hope he has that little trash can around come election night on Super-Duper Tuesday, when we'll probably learn who the candidate will be.

So, why he is speaking at dinners for Democrats, I don't know.
