Internet lift for 'Dr No' in White House race
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/06/18/wuspols118.xml

He is 71 years old and calls him self a "pen and paper guy" but Ron Paul is emerging as a stalking horse in the long race to the White House thanks to the internet.

In conventional opinion polls the Texan congressman barely registers among the 10 candidates for the Republican nomination to run in 2008. But online he is a star and his campaign team now hopes his virtual popularity can translate into real votes. He either won or was highly placed in online polls after each of the three televised Republican debates, when he has spoken his mind.

The former gynaecologist, referred to in Congress as "Dr No" because he votes against bills so often, combines old-fashioned Republicanism and libertarianism, advocating a limited role for central government, low taxes and a non-interventionist foreign policy.

Some analysts said his libertarian values chime with internet users' free-wheeling outlook but will not lure mainstream support.

1. Paul used to be a gynaecologist ?

Sorry for not knowing a lot about him... but as a former GYN, does he believe it's a woman, the baby's father and her doctor that make the ultimate decision on abortion issues?

I seriously don't know if he's a pro-Lifer ---> ---or if he supports a woman's right to choose?
